Comedienne Sarah Silverman has signed to toplining her own feature-length film based on her hit off-Broadway show
Jesus Is Magic, with Liam Lynch directing, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The film will be a combination of comedy concert, music videos and filmic narrative digressions. It will shoot this month.
A senior executive, said: "Sarah has the kind of talent where she can move in any direction she decides to go, and we are always interested in working with people who can do that. We want to be involved with Sarah in everything she does ... whether it's music, stand-up, television, film, whatever. Our goal is to help her reach the audience that she deserves. Plus, she's funny as hell."
Silverman is well-known in stand-up circles for her frank riffs on race, religion and sexuality.
