Lee Considers Best Work Not Revealed

Jinnah
Christopher Lee star of the upcoming movies 'Lord of the Rings' (Saruman the White) and 'Star Wars: Episode II' (Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus), is disappointed that his best works is still not getting the recognition that it should have, Lee said he is "proud of this picture" and "it must be shown". Lee was talking about the 1998 film 'Jinnah' where he played Mohammed Ali Jinnah. He also played the same role in 'Gandi', when asked about it he replied

"The presentation of him in the film Gandhi was on the level of distortion. It was wildly inaccurate."

The controversial role of the founder of Pakistan, was ignored by many distributors as they thought they might become the targets of Islamic terrorists. He was at the special screening of Jinnah at the Barbican, where he told Empire that

"[Jinnah] is the antithesis of that. It is the story of a remarkable man: a husband, a father and a brother who founded a nation. It has absolutely nothing to do with Fundamentalism," said Lee, adding that the film was not a political movie and had"played in Pakistan for a couple of months to packed houses and there was not one dissenting voice."
