Wayne Wang To Direct Latifahs 'Last Holiday'
[Wednesday, April 28th, 2004]Wayne Wang is negotiating to direct Queen Latifah in Paramount's remake of Last Holiday, according to Variety.
Talks have launched for Wang to direct Latifah in a remake of the 1950 comedy that starred Alec Guinness. The role has undergone a gender switch, with Latifah playing a shy sales clerk who, after she learns she has a terminal illness, takes off for a European vacation.
Wang most recently directed Maid in Manhattan, starring Jennifer Lopez.
Production is set to begin this fall.
