'Extraodinary Gentlemen' Starts Shooting

"The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" has began principal photography in Prague on Wednesday, reports Variety.

Prague is once more hosting a film based on a comicbook. "From Hell" and "Blade 2" were both shot in Prague, with "Hell Boy" headed to Prague by the end of the year.

Steve Norrington ("Blade") directs the film, set in Victorian England, and Mike Nelson is line producer.

Local production services are going through Flying Pictures, making its first appearance on the Prague international film scene, with Prague-based independent producer Michelle Weller overseeing the Czech side.

"League" is bypassing both Barrandov and fledgling Prague Studios for its studio shoots, relying instead on some of the many empty warehouse spaces available throughout the city.
