Jean-Pierre Jeunet To Helm 'Life Of Pi'

Jean-Pierre Jeunet is set to direct 20th Century Fox's adaptation of Yann Martel novel Life of Pi, says Variety.

The story follows a 16-year-old boy's voyage from India to Canada, a trip that begins on a freighter carrying animals his father is transporting from the zoo. The ship sinks and the boy is the sole human survivor, sharing a lifeboat with a hyena, an injured zebra and a hungry tiger.

Alfonso Cuaron was set to direct but dropped out to helm Children of Men. M. Night Shyamalan also had been linked to the project, but dropped out to helm Lady in the Water.
