Warner Bros. To Make 'Magic Kingdom'

Warner Bros. is looking to make some magic, optioning Terry Brooks' "Magic Kingdom of Landover" series of books for Akiva Goldsman's Weed Road Pictures and Andy Cohen's Grade A Entertainment.
The film will be based on the first book in the series "Magic Kingdom for Sale -- Sold!," first published in 1986. It's the story of a recently widowed lawyer who finds an advertisement in an upscale Christmas catalog claiming to offer a magical kingdom for $1 million by a man named Mr. Meeks. After he purchases Landover, he discovers he must unite the kingdom's denizens and creatures to stop an evil demon bent on destroying the realm.
