Warner Bros. is looking to make some magic, optioning Terry Brooks' "
Magic Kingdom of Landover" series of books for Akiva Goldsman's Weed Road Pictures and Andy Cohen's Grade A Entertainment.
The film will be based on the first book in the series "Magic Kingdom for Sale -- Sold!," first published in 1986. It's the story of a recently widowed lawyer who finds an advertisement in an upscale Christmas catalog claiming to offer a magical kingdom for $1 million by a man named Mr. Meeks. After he purchases Landover, he discovers he must unite the kingdom's denizens and creatures to stop an evil demon bent on destroying the realm.
