Jeremy Irons is to star in "Mathilde" a movie about the Balkans war set in Montenegro, reports Ananova.
The film has a strong anti-war message. It tells the story of a Croatian girl and a Serbian boy who help each other to survive the war.
The 54-year-old British actor will be staying on the luxury island of Sveti Stefan, off Montenegro's coast, local media report.
The island was a favourite haunt of Elizabeth Taylor during her visits to former Yugoslavia in the 1970s.
Filming will begin in August.
