1980 Hockey Gold Medal Winners Take On O'Connor

The Miracle
The Walt Disney Co. and Gavin O'Connor ("Tumbleweeds") are in negotiations for him to helm "The Miracle," the story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team's gold medal performance, reports Hollywood Reporter.

The team defeated a seemingly unbeatable Soviet Union squad in the semifinals, prompting sportscaster Al Michaels to utter the now-famous line, "Do you believe in miracles?" The team then went on to beat Finland in the gold-medal game.

"Miracle" was written by "The Rookie" scribe Mike Rich.
