Synopsis:

Based on a Trisha Thomas novel. Described as being in the vein of "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Waiting to Exhale," follows a black woman's journey to self-discovery. It's about Venus Johnston, who one day on impulse stops fussing with long, processed straight hair, cuts it short and kicks out her commitment-phobic live-in boyfriend. Discovering a newfound personal freedom within, she is unprepared for the way friends and co-workers weigh in about her new 'do and is shocked when her former man finds a replacement gal who sports her old hairstyle -- long, straight and equally processed.
