National Lampoon Goes 'Back To College'

National Lampoon's Back to College
Final negotiations are being taken place by Emmett/Furla Films and Craig Moss and Steve Schoenburg for them to write "National Lampoon's Back to College," reports The Hollywood Reporter. The project will be the story of two successful bachelors in their mid- to late-20s who realize that there are a few things that they've missed out on, especially when it comes to their college experiences. So they decide to pose as regular guys and enroll in college classes, armed with the wealth and intelligence they have accumulated in their adult lives.

It's being developed as in the vein of the Rodney Dangerfield starrer "Back to School" with a younger spin and is inspired by the real-life experience of Emmett/Furla toppers Randall Emmett and George Furla, who posed as college students at Auburn University in 1999.

"What if you could go to college and know all the things you've learned about life in your adulthood? What if you could go to college and not be broke all the time?" Emmett and Furla said. "We knew this idea had feature film written all over it, but we knew the only way to tell this story was to actually do it. So that is what we did. We enrolled in college for a semester, and like true college students, we went to classes, parties and football games. We had the time of our lives."
