"The Phantom" is about to go to the big screen again, six years after a film about the comic book hero bombed at the box office, reports Variety.
The new film, a contemporized tale, will have nothing to do with the earlier version, a period adventure that starred Billy Zane and Kristy Swanson. Instead, its producers say the character will be reinvented to be closer to films such as "Spider-Man" and "The Matrix."
