Benigni To Direct & Star In Pinocchio

Miramax Films has acquired the rights to Roberto Benigni’s re-telling of the classic tale 'Pinnochio'. Benigni ('Life is Beautiful') not only will star in the film as Pinocchio, but will direct. He has also written the script with his longtime partner Vincenzo Cerami.

The film will co-star Nicoletta Braschi as the Blue Fairy And Turi Ferro as Geppetto

'Pinocchio' is set to begin filming next month in Italy. Release 2002.
