Foot And Mouth Outbreak Affect Filming
[Thursday, March 22nd, 2001]The Foot and Mouth disease may no hold up filming of the most expensive film ever made in Ireland, reports ShowBiz Ireland:
Disney's Reign of Fire which stars Time to Kill actor Matthew McConaughey and American Psycho star Christian Bale may now have to move keys scenes in the film out of Ireland's Ardmore studios to North Africa due to the threat of the disease.
Outdoor scenes which were to be filmed in countryside around the studios may be scraped due to the outbreak of Foot and Mouth in the UK in sheep and cows. The Irish Government are trying to keep people out of the countryside in order to keep the disease out of Ireland.
Sources close to Ardmore have said that a special outdoor set may now be shelved and filming may now be moved from Ireland to Morocco in North Africa.
This will be the second blow to filming as the movie's budget has already been over-stretched due to snow cover delaying filming last month.
