Brooke Shields Brooke Shields has landed a leading role alongside Maria Grazia Cucinotta ("The World Is Not Enough") in Italian writer-director Ilaria Borrelli's English-lingo debut comedy, "Rent-a-Husband," reports Variety.
Chevy Chase is in final negotiations to join the cast.
The feature will shoot for seven weeks, starting Monday in New York and continuing on the Italian island of Procida, near Naples. Domestic distrib Medusa Film is planning a fall 2003 release.
Story centers on an Italian woman (Cucinotta) who hand-makes sandals. Taking her three kids with her, she leaves Procida for New York to find her husband, who is shacked up with a pregnant woman (Shields). Chase will play a key supporting role of a home-shopping channel presenter.
Italian thesp Pierfrancesco Favino ("The Last Kiss") plays the errant husband.
