Friday, September 21st, 2007
Milla Jovovich, star of the upcoming third and final installment in the popular action-horror movie franchise Resident Evil: Extinction, told SCI FI Wire that she loved getting to play her character, Alice, in a variety of modes this time around. In the movie, Alice is cloned and used in various nefarious ways by the evil Umbrella Corporation.
"I tried to think about, like, 'Why does this one die, as opposed to not?'" she said in an interview at the press junket in Las Vegas. "'Why does this one make it past this test, and this one not make it?' In the beginning of the film, when a gurney explodes, [the cloned] Alice acts really scared and really emotional. It stresses her out, and she gets killed by the bomb exploding because she wasn't in control. Where the original Alice never would have reacted that big. The original Alice would have always had her head really well placed on her shoulders. She would never lose control like that. That's why she survives."
