Mike White will star opposite Jack Black in Paramount Pictures' comedy "School of Rock" from a script he wrote for director Richard Linklater, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

White starred with Black in Paramount's "Orange County," which he also wrote and which Rudin produced. In "Rock," Black will star as a musician who works as a substitute teacher at a private school by day. He stirs things up at the uptight facility with his rock 'n' roll ways. White will play Ned, the roommate of Black's character. According to sources, White did not write the role for himself, but he eventually took it over.

Production begins Nov. 25.
