Richard Gere is to take on a ballroom dancing project with Miramax's
Shall We Dance?, after the success of
Chicago. Variety says the movie will be a remake of the 1996 Japanese feature, and will see Peter Chelsom helming.
The movie, written by Audrey Wells, is a romantic comedy about a man who takes ballroom dancing lessons to impress a beautiful young dance teacher.
A high-profile actress is expected to be cast soon in the role of the teacher. Adam Fields is producing the project, which is scheduled to begin production in June.
