Picturehouse and New Line International have bought the rights to Francois Girard's world-hopping romantic drama
Silk, says the Hollywood Reporter.
The story, adapted by Girard and Michael Golding, follows Herve Joncour, a 19th century French silkworm merchant who travels to Japan, where he begins a forbidden romance.
The cast includes Michael Pitt, Keira Knightley, Koji Yakusho and Alfred Molina.
