'Smart And Smarter' Get Twin Town Director

Smart and Smarter
Welsh director Kevin Allen ("Twin Town") will take the helm of "Smart and Smarter," a New Line comedy that is not a sequel to the studio's 1994 hit "Dumb & Dumber," reports Variety.

The new project revolves around two genius brothers raised in the isolated environs of a think tank. When they're suddenly jettisoned into the real world, they find that they are so smart -- but so lacking in common sense -- that they think themselves into problems rather than out of them.

"When you meet Kevin, it's quickly clear he's very smart and very funny, which is the perfect combination for this movie," said New Line production president Toby Emmerich.

Allen will direct from a script by tyro scribes Dan Wilson and David Gilbreth.
