Peter Webber (“The Girl With the Pearl Earring”) has signed on to direct “The Spider’s House,” a romantic drama set in 1950s Morocco.
Pic, based on a novel by Paul Bowles and adapted for screen by Laurie Cooke, is about two American former lovers whose paths cross in Fez, Morocco, as clashes between pro-independence insurgents and French colonial overlords escalate.
