Martin Lawrence To Flee Mexico

Untitled: Martin Lawrence Acapulco Project
Comedian Martin Lawrence, Universal Pictures and Tom Shadyac's studio-based Shady Acres are teaming on an untitled Acapulco project that David Raynr will script for Lawrence to star in, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The project is based on an experience Lawrence had when he visited Mexico nine years ago with a group of friends including Raynr and producers Michael and Beth Hubbard, the trio behind the recent stand-up comedy feature "Martin Lawrence Live: Runteldat." While there, Lawrence accidentally insulted Mexican government officials and found it necessary to flee the country.
