Production and finance outfit FilmEngine has reeled in screenwriter Jason Smilovic to pen "The Whale Hunter," reports Variety.
Based on the nonfiction book "Temples of Chance" by Pulitzer Prize winner David Johnston.
"Whale" is a fictionalized account of a young casino host's meteoric rise to the top at one of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas. The host ultimately becomes the youngest person ever to bring "whales" -- the term for the 200 richest known gamblers in the world -- to the casino's tables.
