Chris Carter, the creator, and Frank Spotnitz, the executive producer of the 'X-Files' spoke with
Cinescape about the sequel movie:
First off, it seems Spotnitz's new movie deal with Dimension Films won’t be effecting his work on the second FILES feature.
"I suppose it could, but I don't think it will," Spotnitz says. "I think I will be able to do both. I hope so. That's my intention, anyway."
"I see the features as stand-alones," Carter told us. "But you never know – there may be things in there for the long-term, hard-core fans that only they would know, and only they would see. That might be a really fun thing to do... One of the tricks of the movie was in creating a movie for X-FILES fans and others. I don't want to go backwards, I don't want to beat them over the head. The X-FILES fans knew very well who Mulder and Scully were, and their characters didn't need to be reintroduced to them. So we had to be clever about how we told a new audience about who they were."To read more of the interview, check out the May issue of the magazine.
