Synopsis: A documentary celebrating the brilliant international career of Portugal's beloved diva Amalia Rodrigues (1920-1999), who single-handedly brought Portugues music to the world. Best known as the premier stylist of "Fado" (the Portuguese musical expression laced with haunting melodies and heart-breaking lyrics), Amalia's sultry personality and dramatic voice captures audiences over a half-century's reign on the global stage. The chronicle combines an interview with the famed Fado singer, along with a collection of performance footage throughout her long career from concerts in France, Italy, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Romania, and the United States.
