Synopsis: "He is an asshole," proclaimed the famous author and troubadour Wolf Biermann on German TV, about his successor Sascha Anderson. Sascha was the former leader of the GDR's circle of artists and intellectuals who opposed the government. According to Biermann, Sascha Anderson had worked for the East German Secret Service, Stasi, and over a number of years supplied information to the system's archives about everyone who was close to him. But Sascha denied that he had been a Stasi informer. The accusation dropped like a bomb. It led to the so-called "Anderson affair," one of the biggest cultural-political scandals in post-war Germany. Just a week later the Stasi protocol was made official: Biermann was right. The Swedish journalist Bjorn Cederberg was determined to investigate the Sascha Anderson mystery. Who was he really, this charismatic man who for many years figured prominently on German radio and TV, was quoted in the press, and fascinated both journalists and cultural personalities?
