"Blade: Trinity" is the third installment of the series starring Wesley Snipes as the Vampire hunting Blade (aka. Daywalker). This time he goes up against a group of Vampires who trick him into hunting down a human whom he thought was a Vampire. With law enforcement after him - including an ambush that kills his friend and mentor Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) Blade goes to take down the group of Vampires, lead by Danica Talos (Parker Posey) who framed him. With some reluctance, Blade allows fellow Vampire hunters Hannibal King (a very funny Ryan Reynolds) and Whistler's long lost daughter, Abigail (Jessica Biel) to help him take down the Vampire nation once and for all. However, this task will be difficult because the oldest known Vampire named Drake (aka. Dracula) has come into the picture to help the Vampire nation.

This third installment is nowhere is good as the first two, because the energy that sustained the first two, is somewhat lukewarm in this third one. Dracula is supposed to be the toughest Vampire of them all, yet when you see the final showdown, you realize that he isn't so tough after all. Combine this with the same old action and special effects, you come to the conclusion that the cupboard was bare for the filmmakers (and producer Snipes) to come up with new ideas. However, what makes this film watchable is the comic relief provided by Ryan Reynolds, and seeing the very alluring Jessica Biel kick ass. Hopefully, this is the final installment of this series, and maybe Wesley Snipes can get back doing other kinds of films before he gets typecast. Playing the arrogant action star, as he as done for awhile, will only get you so far. Right now, as this film shows, it has gotten him into a realm of mediocrity.
