I made this thread because the canadian superhero team gets no respect

The other day I say a thread that argued Wolverine could beat all of alpha flight. shame on that person. Alpha Flight has some real power. if they were american people would love them but no just cause they put gravy and cheese on there fries and say eh they get no respect no respect at all.

Join me my brothers and lets tell the world what Alpha Flight can do.

I was thinking of doing this myself actually tonight.

Sasquatch also throwed down with Imposternaut, tough he's not strong and durable as he was in his classical form, Juggy was still a powerhouse, able to smack around another Juggernaut which revealed to be a child who Cyttorak imbued with his same powers.
Anyway Sasquatch fought Juggernaut to a standstill, then Marko gave up cause he saw Sammy was scared of him.
He's not equal to him, but he's pretty damn strong

That was the weaker version of Sasquatch , if he gets fueled with rage he is indeed on par with Juggs. Ie...Tanaraq influenced Sasquatch (has happened in the 616 universe) would be hell to pay.

Marvel pays Canada respect with heroes of our own. They always have that over DC for me.

Everyone likes Canadians.

I used to like Alpha Flight. The X-men mini where Loki grants everyone their dream power at the expense of imagination is good.
I think thought that Alpha Flight needs a purpose. They'd make a great spy team.
They could infiltrate places and teams;good and bad. `be interesting to see em pop up.

Why not? Canada has a lot of powerful mutants such as Wolverine, Deadpool, Cyber, Gravitron, Wendigo, Scramble: The Mixed up Man, etc.

Factions such as: Department H, Weapon X, Secret Empire, Alpha/Gamma/Beta/Omega Flight, etc.

Alpha Flight #???-Thing was completly outmatched here and he even admits it. One good hit from Sasquatch sent Thing flying, one good hit from Thing sent him back a few feet. Hell, Sasquatch didn't even want to fight.

Oh it's Heather Hudson Sasquatch from Exiles #32 so it's not technically Alpha Flight. A vampire Cap was about attack Mimic. Sasquatch tears through a wall and smashes him around. But Vampire Wasp distracts her and Vampire Cap manages to get away.

Not really all they need is a good writer to make them relevant. They really have gone downhill since Byrne left (Vol.2 and Vol.3 are garbage), but they still can be great. Hell, many members still appear in 2005. Puck is going to be making 2 cameos as part of the new X-Men in Weapon X: Days of Future Now #4 and X-Men Unlimited #12 as an alcoholic and Wolverine steps in wanting to help him. Plus AF always appears and make cameos in Wolverine and X-Men, and when they do appear it actually makes sense.

Anyways, you don't have to like them it's fine. Just say you don't in a different thread since this is about showing them respect.

Uncanny X-Men #422-Weaker Sasquatch (or calm one) vs. Weaker Juggernaut.

"At that same time, Juggernaut and Sasquatch come up to each other, and Sasquatch punches the former villain, removing his helmet. The blast of the punch sends both men flying, and a crater is formed in the ground from the impact of their landings." They fight for awhile, but in ends in a stalemate since Sammy the fishboy gets in the way.

Alpha Flight has many feats such as beating the X-Men, Dr.Doom, Avengers, etc. However, I can't get those scans. Can other people post some scans who have read AF?

I liked volume 2. It just moved too slow for its own good.

Has anyone read the Crossing Line affair? It's an Avengers story with Alpha Flight and Soviet Super Soldiers/People's Protectorate. It made great use of the international super-hero scene, which should be done more often.

Alpha Flight, and any team or character, can be made relevant and useful given the proper treatment. They got a shitty Lobdell treatment, it happens, and hopefully it hasn't crippled their effectiveness and worth too much. In another couple years they'll get a chance or be dusted off again.

I don't think to many people know what Alpha Flight can do. So with each member I'm going to post their powers or abilities. Just one for tonight though

Abilities: Olympic level acrobat , Fluent in many languages, Expert in espionage, Skilled streetfighter, Knowledge in ritual magic
Strength: Strength Level 10 (800 pound to 2 ton)
Durability: Upon the demon being freed and returning to his full size, he was captured by the Master and manipulated by him. In the end his cells were compressed to maximum density resulting him to his dwarf stature once again. However, Puck's flesh has the density of rubber giving him heightened durability to being bullet proof. Also from the encounter he recieved heightened strength.

And Sabretooth...nothing offical written, but he and Logan have been fighting for about a hundred years now, and it started out of mountain country in Western Canada. And Creed has always maintained some residence near Calgary, right?

Majority are, some were born else where and moved to Canada. Sunfire was somewhat a member for awhile (vol.2)

That's true, but like you said nothing offical. Here's a scan of Warbird saying he's Canadian . Really what's with Canadians and healing factors though, seems like a trademark for Canadian mutants.

Puck is basically just an average human, so he won't have high-end feats of strength or anything. However, after the Master's experiment his strength is 800 pound to 2 ton range and he is bullet proof and has the acrobat skill of a person 6 feet tall. I'll post scans shortly of him beating Danger Room Beast (not the real one, but a hologram). He's good, but basically he is just the heart of Alpha Flight.

Vol.3 ran for 12 issues, and there are two trades

Alpha Flight vs. Uncanny X-Men

Uncanny X-Men #121-The newly formed and inexperienced Alpha Flight goes toe to toe with the X-Men. This is their first apperance and the battle starts off with Shaman creating a strong barrier around the arena where the Calgary Stampede is held. This is done so no one outside could enter.

Feats:
-Shaman creating his totem summons
-Northstar punching Cyclops
-Sasquatch toying with Collosus
-Shaman's storm gets out of control, Storm has to use all her powers to stop it

Yeah Vindicator/Guardian would destroy Wolverine. I havn't even show their "tricks" yet. Such as Guardian 2 teleporting around the room blasting people.

Guardian 2/Vindicator 2

Alpha Flight #34-After James died , Heather took up the mantle and went to Wolverine to train her to be a hero. She hasn't fully learned how to control the suit, but she takes out multiple samurai with ease. To bad the inexperienced Guardian couldn't help the New Avengers . This is Deathstike's first apperance, and Heather makes her look like a chump breaking her sword which was giving Wolverine's claws a hard time.

I posted the entire fight and no. Pg.12 Sasquatch is shown standing up once again. That judo toss was uneffective against him, hell Sasquatch can take armor peircing machine gun fire a fall will not knock him out. He even said "whoops" as he fall, like it was nothing to him. Pg.14 also has him standing up again after everyone was disorientated from the storm.

They would be wrong.

Of course, but when you still say "whoops"; people say it like it's not a big deal. Like "whoopsie". He didn't even groan in pain after he hit the ground like most people do in comics when they hit the ground hard. Colossus did not win that fight.

Wow King Mungi you've done alot for this thread I'd like to but my computer is crap and I don't have a scanner. Box has always been so cool he could be like an omega level mutant. Keep up the good work. Also we have to come up with ideads in the versus forum to show how good AF is like the AF and JSA fight that was close. What other teams should we use to show off Canada's superhero team?

Well the fight is pretty much ended by wolverine saying that he will go with alpha flight.

Up until that point we see Sasquatch:

- hoist Colossus over his head with ease

- take Colossus's best shots and mock him

- level Peter with a shot to the head

- and hold Colossus back by putting his hand on his forehead like you'd do to a 5 year old trying to punch you

Colossus' only offense was a judo flip to which Sas responds by saying "Whoops!" as he's going down. Hardly a killing blow. In the next frame you see Sas getting back up. Then wolverine stops the fight saying that he doesn't want to see his friends get chewed up by alpha flight.

Marvel wouldn't have peter beat outright by Sasquatch because they are not gonna have a popular character job to a character of lower popularity such as walter, but in that fight Colossus' best was not that great, and he was getting his ass handed to him by Walter.

Hey thanks alot, I just want to show that one of my favorite teams is truely underated. I havn't even posted scans of the stronger members of Alpha Flight (Feedback, Windshear, Talisman 1 and 2, etc.). They have been put up against every team on the board, best bet is to make individual matches now.

BTW Madison and Lionel Jeffries are both Omega level mutants.

He didn't get powerbombed, he got tossed to the ground and with a move that didn't even hurt him. Did you see the other scans of Sasquatch vs. Colossus? All his most powerful heats didn't even phase the monster, while one punch damn near took off his head. I'm sorry, but Colossus wasn't even close to winning. The fight wouldn't have ended there if it wasn't for Shaman's storm and Wolverine giving up.

Yes, but Colossus has nothing to "cushion" in the hits from Sasquatch. Basically all he did was use his strength against him, tossing him which didn't even hurt him. All of Colossus's power hits were shrugged off by Walter, while one hit from Walter knocked him down.

Probally, current base Sasquatch is weaker but if he is fueled with rage or lets Tanaraq back in control. He is back to 100 class range.

God lord that ark was horrible, "Hulk buster armor". Bah! the armor didn't even make a difference, didn't even have new features. Hell, notice they never wore those stupid suits ever again and hell they had Mac trying to punch out Juggernaut. He NEVER does that to anyone, a full blast from his suit would have done serious damage to Juggs. No way would Jug even be able to grab or hit Heather or James. Also that fight didn't end, the way it ended was Sasquatch pounding in Jugs face and he wasn't fighting back anymore crying that he scared Fishboy. Heather and James told Walter to stop. Written correctly Alpha Flight is a major player in the MU. This was horrible written, Nightcrawler being the son of the devil *nods*

Alpha Flight #87-Aurora, Talisman, Sasquatch and Shaman are in a search to find Puck. Talisman first performs a magical spell of temoral alignment making the past the present. Then Shaman pulls out the "Jewel of Actualization", which shows the past as if it was happening at that moment.

Alpha Flight vs. The Master's mutated humans

Alpha Flight #88-Shaman, Aurora, Sasquatch and Talsiman are in a search for their missing teamate Puck. He was kidnaped and it's their job to find out who did it and make them pay. Even though this was a small and short fight it did show many feats.

Feats shown:
-Shaman getting information from a Doctor's of the location of Puck
-Shaman uses a dimensional portal he opened up in Ottawa, which sent the team to South Dakota in a matter of seconds
-Aurora using her newly evolving light powers to blind and calm the monsters. She uses the "Light of Truth"
-Shaman pulling out the "Staff of Sistul", which will cast a spell of natural alignment across the entire area. So thus beings of unnatural nature will feel a physical and spiritual disassociation
-Aurora using her "Light of Innocence and Truth", which causes great harm to the monsters
-Talisman creating a telepathic bond from the monster to gather information
-Talisman finding the enterance of The Master's hideout, which was hidden between dimensional planes.
-Talisman locks onto the plane and it's intergrity and upon doing so she masks the presense of the team when they enter through the portal.

Alpha Flight #33-After Heather takes up the mantle as Vindicator, she asks her fellow Alpha Flight members to train her to be a hero and how to use her new power. The team refuses since they don't want her to suffer the same fate as her husband in the suit. So she flys away to the one person who could help. That being Wolverine, she flys to the X-Mansion and the team is walking outside to go to the theatre. Magneto quickly reacts and acts the defensless and inexperienced Guardian sending her to the ground. Since she is very new to the hero thing she didn't know what she was doing was considered to be hostile. Wolverine knew right away it was her and when Magneto attacked her, Wolverine attacked him (blocked by his shiled). What is interesting to note is Nightcrawler trying to teleport her away.

Alpha Flight vs. Box Army

Alpha Flight #4 -After Alpha Flight goes in time in attempt to save Flashback, they muck up the timeline and what's left is one where Jerome K. Jaxon has created a Box army for the U.S. It horrible backs fires and the unstopable army kills all the heroes. He first sets up his own team (Omega Flight) to gain confidence and take more control. In the end Alpha Flight do incredibly well against them. This is the version 2 box and you can learn more about them by clicking below. The reason why they turn to acid rain is some members are still in the past mucking around and it once again altered the timeline turning the bots into acid rain.

Alpha Flight #9-Basically this should happen to all her and Northstar fights. She can move so fast and her punches back a punch even one hit knocked out this burgler out cold. This is a few years after the incident below. What's interesting to note is her superhuman reflexes knew something was wrong, but since for many years she has not used her powers due to the monestry she was in believed it to be the work of the devil and she was beaten for it. So she knew something was wrong, but didn't act.

Alpha Flight #9-Just 13 years old, Aurora is fed up with life and wants to end it. Upon jumping she finds out she can fly and not only that has incredible speed. For just learning her abilities now she roughly goes mach 2.3. Now that's impressive

the little kid is of the same alien race as marrina. if that makes them related, then i s'posed they are. he also goes with marrina and namor at the end of the series.

apparently, the horse is the source from where captain mapleleaf derives all of his powers. enhanced physical abilities, negation of gravity, energy blasts... he goes on to form the league of superhero pets, or something to that accord, at the end of the series.

No, he is just the same race as her. He/she was hatched from a different generation of Plodex eggs. Technically he doesn't even have a sex yet, but most people just call him a guy. In the end of Vol.3 he goes and hangs out with Namor and wears his crown. His character liked to hang around roylaty (Yukon Jack)

His name is Thunder, and he has super powers that apparently can be given to Major Mapleleaf since Water saw his exploits in the news and askes Walter if he knows what his powers are. Walter responds; "internally generated bio-centric powers including blasts, invulnerability, marginal strength enhancement and gravitional negation..is my best guess based on the news footage of your exploits to date". At the end of Vol.3 Thunder leaves and forms The League of Super-Pets.

Alpha Flight Special: #1 of 4-Diamond Lil has found a cyst in her breast and it may be cancerous. However, proper steps or tests can't be achieved due to her diamond hard body; which is preventing anything from taking the cyst out. This was a great story showing even though she is physical strong, she is left powerless in this condition.

Alpha Flight vs. Uncanny X-MEN
Uncanny X-MEN #422-Alpha Flight are horribly portrayed as the government's lap dogs and shown as a-holes. What's with Guardian's helmet on the first page? Anyways not really a fight since most of the members get attacked from behind. Guardian gets attacked by Northstar from behind (Mac didn't know he was part of the X-Men, and writer forgot about his shiled), Puck gets knocked out from behind by Juggernaut. Finally Vindicator gets taken out by Iceman when she wasn't even fighting, and Snowbird gets taken out by Iceman and Angel-no one in AF even wanted to fight. Anyways this fight shows Sasquatch going toe to toe with Juggernaut and the inexperienced Earthmover creating powerful stone golems.

Alpha Flight vs. Juggernaut
Uncanny X-Men #432-434-Another badly written battle Alpha Flight is in. Sasquatch is really pounding in Jugz until Guardian tells him to stop, which gives Jugz the opening he needs. The fight continues and Jugz hits Vindicator, which sends Guardian into a frenzy punching out Jugz even making him bleed. Wait what? Mac isn't a melee character; he would have just blasted him with his energy blasts that can even kill Sasquatch. Next, Jugz shouldn't even be able to touch them due to their speed, flight and Mac's computer mind. Wait...didn't Sas destroy Jugz shirt? but later doesn't he have it back on? Why was Vindicator shooting machine gun fire? Once again AF is written to job once again.

Avengers #321-After Russian terrorists steal a nuclear sub in attempt to blow up New York harbour, the Avengers team up with the Protectors to stop them. However, the sub ends up in Newfoundland and the teams won't let them pass. Suddenly Alpha Flight appears and steps up to lead the two superpower teams.

-Upon appearing Guardian takes over as leader and formulates their plan of attack

-Puck speaks Russian with more elequence than a person who actually is Russian

Contest of Champions #3-Sasquatch takes on the Collective Man and beats him with ease. It takes him the strength of thousands just to throw Sasquatch off of him, but in the end he is knocked out. Oh yeah Sasquatch doesn't like the jungle :P

-Guardian takes out Meranno out of the fight using her teleportation trick.
-Captain America and his crew attack within the sub and their actions set off the nuclear weapons. Notice there was no Alpha Flight members there, so the blame is all on them

The fist scan shows the durability of this Sasquatch taking a hit from a semi and not even budging from it.
