Superman versus Silver Surfer

I looked for this match, but couldn't find it - so if it exists somewhere, just merge this one, please 😛 .

My money is on SS, I guess, but I remember classic Superman used to pull off some astonishing feats. Am I wrong? Is this a complete mismatch?

Scenario is that SS rocks up on Earth as Galactus's herald, but instead of the FF it is Supes that has to save us all.

Can he do it?

PS I don't really care which incarnations / versions of Supes and SS you use, the two closest to each other, I guess, to make the match as even as possible.

Putting Superman in a scenario where if he fails, Earth is destroyed, is a bad deal for most any opponent he might face.
