I've yet to see a fight in where Vader didn't immediately open with TK when he was trying to kill someone. This is canon only after all.

Vader fought the twins in the comics and immediately opened with TK.

So, you ask for a source where he uses TK with Jedi, and then ignore it because it's "fodder." Seems legit.
