All right, so which version of Rogue do you all like the best? The comics version/versions or the role as played by Anna Paquin in both films? List your reasons why and try to stay on topic.

I like Anna Paquin better, because, you get to actually hear her voice and all. I mean, don't get me wrong, the cartoon & comics are great..I just think the movie ones are better.

Comics. i dunno, Anna isn't Rogueish enuf fer me. i mean she doesn't even act like Rogue in the comics and i like comic-rogues personality way better!

Definately the comics. I hate the way Rogue is portrayed in the movies.

Comics, from when I used to read the comics Rogue was a much better character, on the plus side wolverine is more intense in the movies than in the comics.

I am used to seeing Rogue flying so to see her not flying in the movie was really disappointing to me. In the movie's she did nothing but just stand around. Come on Iceman did more than that and so did Pyro too.

I could say... hell with her appearance! Also Jean is not red as in the comic! Besides a good actor is, when his character seems realistic and natural to us.
Aha... I love the moment when Rogue touches Pyro to stop him. And I have a question... In the comic, cartoon Rogue can touch a mutant only for a while and use his powers, but in the movie I've noticed that she had to touch John all the time to put out the fire. Isn't it wierd, huh?

Maybe she just wanted to neutralize him and knock him out for a bit.

Isnt balance part of hearing??? To get proper balance, their must be some fluids inside your ear(I think in the cochlea) so if you cant hear, than you wont have that much balance. Ex: Right after you go through a rollercoaster, you have poor balance because of the fluids in you ear is displaced.

Didn't Rogue touch Jean sometime and kept her telepathic powers forever and then thats how she can kinda "fly"?

Everybody says it was from absorbing Ms.Marvels powers. That Ms.Marvels personality even comes up and turns Rogue kinda crazy.

In the Age Of Apocalypse saga, Rogue drains the power of Polaris instead of Mrs. Marvel. Its pretty cool since she can contrl metals like Magneto her husband.

ok ill explain the Age of Apocalypse story hehehhe(nothing better to do)

First it all starts when Xavier's son wakes uo from a long coma. He is very powerful and crazy, but he also loves his father and supports his dream of a peaceful exiestance. So Legion,(Xavier's son) comes up wth an idea. He will travel back in time to kill Magneto because he believes that withouth Magneto, Xavier would be able to fullfill his dreams. Legion goes back in time, but accidently brings Storm, Iceman, Bishop and Psylock with him. They travel about 20 years into the past. In this period, Xavier is still Magneto's friend. The 4 X-mem tries to stop Legion from killing Magneto, but they get their ass kicked. In the end, when Legion is about to kill Magneto, Xavier jumps in the way and is killed by Legion. Because Xavier died 20 years in the past, then he could never have created the X-men. Time unravels and is changed forever. Magneto, who is shocked with his friends death, tries to fullfill Xavier's dream and gave up his mutant superiority idea.

Without the X-men to appose Apocalypse, Apocalypse creates an army and takes over te world. Magneto sees that he will soon fail to fullfill Xavier's goals, then create a new version of the X-men. Of course when the X-men is finally created, Apocalypse have scorched the entire world and is creating a genocidal purge of humans. The human population is almost to a brink of disspaerance.

Now 20 years later. Bishop emerges. He survived his fight with Legion and is the only one who has any memory of an alternate timeline. He goes to Magneto and shows him of the alternate reality. Magneto wants to change history so he decides to believe in bishop. He sends his X-men across the world to obtain somethings: Nightcrawler has to get Destiny, a mutant who can see the future, Gambit and the X-ternals has to go to space and get the M,Krann crystal etc etc. They eventually fix time and everything goes back to normal. With lots of X-men causlties.

Its a very interesting story. Lots of changes too Ex: Cyclops is a bad guy and has only one eye. Beast is a genticist that experiments on humans. Wolverine has one hand(the other hand was blown uo by cyclops. Rogue is married to Magneto and have a child together etc etc

I say they start over from scratch. Replace Professor X with Patrick Duffy, and have the "U-Mansion" somewhere in Idaho, not New York. The first X-Men should be Fish Boy, a boy who likes to eat fish. Girl Who Goes to School, a young girl in the 7th Grade. Rachel Dratch, a woman with a manificant bosom, and Nick Nolte, a creepy old drunk.....I AM ABOVE THE LAW!

Rogue has a child with MAgento and named it Charles in memory of Xavier. This reality ends when Bishop goes back in time and stops Legion from killing Xavier. So none of this really happened.

Rogue ends up with Magento and they have a child togeteher named Charles in memory of Xavier. None of this actually happened since Bishop managed to go back in time again, and stop Legion from killing Xavier.


In the regular comic series, Rogue has some feelings for Magneto. When Magneto got his memory wiped out, Rogue tried to rehabilitate him and tried to make him a better man. She also have numerous lenghty arguments with him over his goals and did spark a love interest in him a while ago.

AND WHAT WITH GAMBIT?!?!?!?! Tell me some romance stories with Rogue and GAMBIT!!! AH!

Well first they were together but Rogue's powers kept getting in the way of their relationship and during the Legion Quest, when all hopes were lost, she finally kissed Gambit absorbing his powers and memory. Gambit goes in a coma and Rogue becomes frightened of Gambits past that she ran away. Iceman agreed to come with her. When Gambit was in a coa, Physlock went into his mind ad she saw his past but did not tell him. Later Gambit track's down Rogue and she tells him that she no longer remebers anything from his past. They get together again. Then Rogue, Bishop, Joseph(aka Magneto when he lost his memory and joined the X-men) Beast, Trish, and Gambit is teleprted to other space to fight the Phalanx who took over the Shi ar empire. after saving the Shi ar empire, they try to return to earth, but they crash and are found by Gambit's bounty hunters. Gambit freely gives himself up to the bounty hunters since he is guilty of his past and Rogue is intent on finding him. They find him in Joseph's former base and there is a trial. Rogue then absorbs Gambits powers and memories again and she sees his past. After battling the forces that held them there, Rogue leaves Gambit to rot in the antartica. Later Gambit rejoined the X-men and they are now back together.

Still sad....

But I say Rogue never really wanted to be with Mag in AOA, only cause what made Gambit leave was the fact that he thought she chose Mag over him. They were fighting and since Mag was injured Rogue rescued him first, and Gambit saw that as her way of saying I love Mag not you, sorry.

So afterwards he left, and another reason she ended up with Mags was because Gambit asked Mags to help him find a way for Rogue to touch, but Mags double crossed him. Mags found a way for himself to touch Rogue.



God I hated AoA...

At least they are making up for it now in Xtreme, but I heard on another forum that they are thinking of KILLING ROGUE!!!!

Yes, Rogue looked up to Mags and that's why they had a romantic interest in each other. But when he attacked Gambit she saw Mags for what he is.

yeah, and then Rogue had something going on with Joseph. Mags clone, Joe was several years younger then Mags though.

She had hoped to use him to destroy and replace Magneto, but although Joseph was more powerful, he had failed to kill Magneto once Astra left him on his own. During that battle, Magneto hit his clone in the head with a rock, leading to his amnesia

I read about him being Joe only cause he lost his memories..as if this was a new persona for him...off of one of these forums...I guess I mistook it and it was only a hypothesis!

Ah don't worry about it, I constantly have to read up on character bio's or I'll confuse it with fanfiction

I only get confused if I've read the fanfiction first, liked it and then read what really happens...

I know..in the comics...but look for people who've never been into X-men, seeign Jean die...they're more attached and want to know what happens...but WE know what really happened when she died...she rised again and became the Pheonix...this kind of reaction maybe what the movie company wants...more viewers...but killing the people..really killing the characters...that'll decrease the numbers of viewers, namely people like us who are attached to the comics.

I god when I bought that issue I freaked. But Rogue and Gambit didn't actually die, they just came really really close. Especially Gambit, Rogue had to go to the astral plane and drag him back from the gates to heaven

Well, they don't die, Gambit was almost "in heaven" but Rogue came after him, took his hand and bring him back... It was a little bit wierd, because they were in som place which reminded something between the real world and the hereafter..... spooky lol

X-Treme X-Men #18, I believe. I know it occurs in the Khan Invasion story, which occurs in X-Treme X-Men #12-19. Since I'm new (thereby, can't post links), you can goto UncannyXmen.net and goto Cerebro Files->SpotlightOn and hit Rogue's spotlight and you'll find a smaller version of that pic on Page 7.

When Rogue was first created, she was meant to be a mutant in her early to mid-forties! According to Claremont, she just got younger and younger as time went on. Once, when her Carol Danvers persona was dominant, Rogue touched Psylocke skin to skin without absorbing her psyche and powers! But if Carol Danvers knew the secret of controlling Rogue's power, it was lost forever when the two were separated by the Siege Perilous and Carol Danvers died. Once, when Rogue retreated to the furthest depths of her subconscious, she found ghosts of all the people whose powers and memories she'd ever absorbed, sort of a residual psychic energy of each individual. Among them were Juggernaut, almost all of the X-Men, Thing, Spiral, Northstar and even Thor and Captain America!
