So glad this is happening

ares834
It's Godzilla vs King Kong.

Get the damn title right.

As dope as this will be. It should have been done before Godzilla 2 with them becoming some sort of allies before Ghidorah and the others showed up. Godzilla will have dealt with so much by the time this releases that I don't see Kong as enough of a threat to warrant a solo movie. He doesn't even have nipple lightning this time around.

*King Kong

KingD19
Yeah I remember the movie. John c. Reilly's character terms explained he was basically a teenager and not full grown yet.

But all he is is essentially a slightly smaller Godzilla sized ape.

Zilla has taken on both MUTO's at the same time and won. And he's gonna take down Ghidora and Rodan with some help from Mothra. Kong has no weapons aside from hitting him, clawing him and biting him. While MUTO's straight up drain him. And Ghidora is a giant flying lightning dragon and rodan is a massive fire demon bat.

Kong is covered in flammable fur. Napalm did him bad and Godzilla belches nukes.

ares834
Yeah. It's a fight that has never made a ton of sense to me.

BrolyBlack

KingD19
Is he going to become not flammable by nuclear flame breath? Or immune to getting whacked in the skull with Zilla's tail? Don't forget Zilla is getting a boost too. Like that massively fast rush he did at one point in the new trailer.

It's a cool fight but yeah Kong is the clear underdog with all his disadvantages.

No armor like Zilla's scales.
His fur easily burns.
He has no energy attacks or moves whatsoever.
And his size and strength will be nothing Godzilla hasn't dealt with.

If it was after the first movie it could have worked. But after the second they'll have to make Kong a God or it just won't look right because they'd have to nerfed the hell out of Zilla after they just gave him a big push.

hopefully both this and King of the Monsters will be good and successful so they can do a Gamera film.

Yeah I'm not seeing how Kong puts up any kind of fight here. He better be freaking ridiculous in size when he's fully grown because he's in some serious trouble.

I also hope we get some of this:

I would shit myself if Kong managed to overextend/break Godzillas jaw. Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for Godzilla here, but I want a brutal fight.

BrolyBlack

KingD19
Lol that would be awesome to see. But I don't think Big G would just sit back and let it happen. Kong tries to pry his mouth open, his hands are getting incinerated.

And why would you root for the guy who's supposed to lose and it's pretty obvious he will? If he wins its rigged because there's no real way he can.

Just say you want Kong to win. Its cool.

playa1258
Kong will need massive increases in power and size. The power levels in KOTM will be ridiculous.

Yeah they'd have to make him more powerful or at least the same level as Ghidora if he's fighting Zilla solo for the entire movie.

Agreed.

If Kong tried that , Kongs face would be a burned down to a skeleton.

ShadowFyre
I am so excited for these movies.

Im almost positive this will end up as a team up movie.

And I believe Godzilla will win but as long as it is done right I wont be totally mad if he does not.

ShadowFyre
True, but if he grows to even lets say 250, its not like hes gonna be doing backflip kicks or anything. But yeah, he should be able to outmaneuver Godzilla.

Im really hoping for a scene with a giant Kong falling off the Empire State building and just shrugging it off

Inhuman
Kong could let himself get swallowed by Big-G and then choke him from the inside by getting stuck in his throat.

playa1258
Kong better have the Infinity stones or something.

ShadowFyre
Lol. And stormbreaker

juggernaut74
Kong is going to get his ass kicked.

I agree. I was way more hyped for Ghidorah than Kong. Did I love the movie? Yes, but they seriously botched several action scenes which really upset me.

So nothing official but judging by the cave painting and the one promo art, at the very very least Kong is gonna stand about 300 feet at the least and probably 350 at the most. If I had to take a guess I would say he is gonna be in the 75,000 ton range making for one big ass monkey man to match his 393 foot tall 99,684 opponent Godzilla.

To put that weight into perspective, Godzilla weighs more than every single Kaiju and Jaeger from both Pacific Rim movies combined while being roughly the same height (if you use averages with beings like Slattern and MegaKaiju).

So there is several rumors from a fairly decent source (he was spot on on every single KOTM leak months before it happened) that supposedly works for Toho (he is Japanese) in the promotional department (they make like the posters and stuff I guess) that a very popular giant mechanized being will be making an appearance.

I love Mecha G but I really don't want him in this movie, I don't feel like he will fit at all in the tone. How do we go about building a thing like that? It just doesn't fit with the realistic tone they have set imo.

If they do go that route than he better be bad ****ing ass is all I gotta say. Anyway, most people on Toho Kingdom have agreed that it looks like we will be getting a trailer before by Thanksgiving hopefully.

Yep. They called it.

ShadowFyre
That's ****ing hilarious and about how an actual fight between the two would go down.

ShadowFyre
Word on the street is the trailer is finally coming soon. Supposed to be today but we will see

TheVaultDweller
I saw articles a while back that said Kong would be bigger but not as big as Godzilla. And based on a leaked promo piece I saw on Reddit a month or so ago, Kong seems to be around chin height to Godzilla. Though it was an early promo piece and mostly just their heads, so it doesn't mean too much. But the people working on the film also said that Kong is "very" intelligent and agile and "can use tools" while fighting.

Bentley
Am I the only one besides Quan fighting the good fight and insisting Kong will win this?

ShadowFyre
No. A lotta fans on toho say the same thing. I don't care if Kong wins as long as it is done right and they properly explain it despite the massive power difference

emporerpants
Of course kong is going to win. He is going to win because the obvious choice is Godzilla. They want to go with the underdog, so yeah, kong will win. Basically, anything that seems like it should obviously win a vs match is going to lose in in hollywood, since they love underdog stories so much.

Flyattractor
I am gonna go with an Enigmatic Draw. Kind of like the OG Moview.

My guess is, Adult Kong will be much more experienced at using his environment in combat, and that will be key in defeating Godzilla. Plus, in addition to smarts, he'll be faster, more agile, in addition to being waayyyy stronger and tougher than on Skull Island.

One thing I've learned from martial arts: the bigger guy doesn't have all the advantages. We've seen Godzilla at his best. Adult Kong ... we've had an inferential glimpse.

Hope they can find that outfit in Kong's Size.

ShadowFyre
They said there would be a definite winner and Kong won last time. Rumors are still going around that insinuate they will probably team up but it's just rumors

ShadowFyre
Godzilla has killed 10k ppl . Watch this its pretty crazy.

So the movie got pushed back to November of next year. Hopefully it's to make a quality movie.

Or Kong needs more training

Footage from Brazil is on the net. Kong is much bigger haha.

BrolyBlack
Brazil?

playa1258
Comic Con in Brazil.

80sBaby
Godzilla's breath weapon isn't really an advantage considering how slow it moves and it's very telegraphed. Kong should easily be able to dodge it.

ShadowFyre
For those who are still interested, obviously it got pushed back to November.

There may be a teamup but supposedly the final battle is 1 vs. 1 completely fair brawl between the two icons in Hong Kong. It will be at dusk and night but the Hong Kong lights make it as clear or supposedly better than Pacific Rim 1 hk fight

Kong will use brute Force, speed and makeshift weapons, environment etc to even the odds. I ask d if he would get electrical powers and was told no.

Despite the size boost, Godzilla is still much more dense and durable than Kong which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

This info came from Sayaka( fake name) from Toho Kingdom, his credentials are working for the marketing team at toho and getting ever part of KOTM right months in advance as well as calling out two Chinese posters that came out after KOTM U.S. release several months in advance as well, all the way down to the type of flowers in the poster.

He also left a cryptic and vague response to the winner so PM me if you want to know what he said in regards to that.

None of this seems spoilery but if you think it is I will have it removed or put in tags.

ShadowFyre
Also and yet to be confirmed is that the reason for the delay is simply for the fights. To expect KSI like cgi with straight up fights ( think PAC rim 1, no cutaway nonsense).

BruceSkywalker
they better fight all throughout the film instead of teaming up to save mothra

Sounds very non-formulaic that they team up and then later brawl it out. Color me surprised if true. Was sure they'd have their fight and then team up to defeat whatever the common enemy is.

Ok, so we don't know there is gonna be a team up at all. We are assuming there will be one because of who else is in the movie. But the final fight is those two

ShadowFyre
Any hollow earth theory fans expect it to be a thing in this movie. Monsters and quite a few of them are below us. And Sayaka told us today to expect more monsters which could be very bad or very good.

Impediment
What are the respective heights of Godzilla and Kong?

ShadowFyre
There is only one small leaked clip and it actually seems Kong is slightly taller. But he is also attacking and Godzilla is kind of hunched, so at my best guess I would say at the very least

Kong-350
Godzilla-393 which is his official height

Even at the same height Godzilla's gonna have a good 20k tons of weight if not more, simply based off of his spines and tail and whatnot

But there is nothing official and it's pretty much guesswork. There is a tie in Kong comic coming though that should tell it

ShadowFyre
Here you go, the actual leak was a 2 second clip from a distance but here is the only official thing in regard to sizes. Now that I look again, Kong is most definitely Godzilla's size and probably bigger which I think is cool

Nemesis X
It will automatically suck if they throw in some third-wheel antagonist. Learn from BvS: we don't need a Doomsday. Throwing in extra monsters is fine and all but make sure they're just fodder.

ShadowFyre
Well, it sounds set in stone that MG will be in the film but he is not an antagonist and it sounds like he may not even fight. But if there is a team up, it will be in the middle. The main and final fight is a one on one with Godzilla and Kong. This source is legit.

The next info is completely rumors and from a shady source at best, but still neat enough to talk about.

It's hinted that multiple creatures are actively training Kong to fight Godzilla, one of them being Camazots who will appear in a tie in comic and is a giant bat with his own breath attack. The creature is legit, his role is rumor.

The next is that Godzilla is not trying to kill Kong at all, he is preparing him to take over his role as King of the Monsters. I personally think it sounds like garbage and a shows era plot, but I like talking about my Godzilla so yeah

ShadowFyre
On a side note, King Kong is just shy of 90 years old , by movie standards he is damn near immortal. He still has comics and toys being made about him today along with a 200 million dollar blockbuster. Even if this completely flops, he is pretty much shitting all over other movie franchises by simply still being a household name. That is pretty damn impressive for a ****ing monkey.

carthage
Surprise this is still being made after the last one disappointed

ShadowFyre
It was already being made and it was only a slight disappointment, multiple companies were sharing the loss and it still had a high audience score.it would have made much more money if it did not come out after Endgame
