So what do we do? Monitor everyone's online communications 24/7? Abolish the right to privacy?

Interesting article. I dont think surveillance or censorship is the answer but we seriously need to promote media literacy. I had family members buy into the conspiracy stuff surrounding 5G and its left me confused and angry. I thought this sort of thing was restricted to the fringe but clearly thats not the case anymore.

People need to understand that the internet is full of misinformation, and an unsourced post on Facebook, WhatsApp or whatever has a very high chance of being completely false.

In terms of politicians using WhatsApp as a political forum though, I think this is quite troubling for transparency. Those sort of conversations need to happen in the public sphere.

An astounding and disappointing amount of ordinary people bought into the 5G / coronavirus thing; conspiracy theory stuff is really starting to enter the public's imagination. Which, on one hand, I'm okay with, as some conspiracy theories have a lot of merit, but not dumb, weird ones like this.

I completely agree with your solution: education is the key, and, specifically, teaching people to think for themselves. It's the only way to combat the misinformation of both the vast expanses of the internet, and the many lies of the MSM.

I also agree about the political stuff. It edges on secret society territory, and must be kept public.

Fake news is as much the Left's domain as anyone else's, but I agree with your general stance of educating people about the dangers of blindly believing things and playing into confirmation bias.

Nobody is immune to it, but it's best to just get people thinking for themselves as much as possible.

As for social media, the majority of people I know are left-leaning and they share so many fake news memes it's unbelievable. I see at least three or four a day, often about Trump. All I have to do is a quick Google to find out that it's bullshit, as even left-leaning media outlets don't stoop to that level.

The social media thought-bubble self-brainwashing is just as prevalent to the Left as it is the Right.

Fake news is actually the bread and butter of the left these days. The right doesn't hold a candle to them in the arena of fake news.I laughed when I saw where pooty said "we try to educate" in your quote of his.

LMAO@ at the notion that the left actually educates anyone. They don't educate, they indoctrinate.

The "5G/Coronavirus thing" is not a conspiracy theory. No, 5G doesn't directly cause Coronavirus, that's true, but it damages your immune system which then in turn makes you far more susceptible to the virus or any other virus or disease.

There are plenty of informative videos out there showing actual verifiable evidence that 5G is dangerous. It's just that the mainstream media won't cover it because their NWO overlords don't want them to. The elites in the NWO have a worldwide depopulation agenda.

Vaccines are another method they will use to try and accomplish their goals. There are also chemtrails, GMO's, and dangerous chemicals they put in our tap water.

LMAO@ at the notion that the left actually educates anyone. They don't educate, they indoctrinate. I'm highly inclined to believe that the Left engages in mass brainwashing. I went to a highly left-leaning university (aren't they all, these days?) and I was subjected to a lot of what I call 'selective education'; we got loads of Marxist stuff, and of course all the postmodernists, because they apparently go hand-in-hand these days (and many of them were Marxists, too). I did a ****ing film degree, and still got all of that shit, with nothing to balance it out. Just left-wing discourse constantly.

I'm one of the few who saw through a lot of it by the end of the course. I played their little game, wrote apolitical essays they couldn't mark me down for (I learned that in first year: never reference Ayn Rand at a left-wing university, they will mark you as low as possible, regardless of essay quality), and got my degree.

Almost everyone else I'm still in contact with who are into politics are socialists now.

Marxist brainwashing. I've seen it in action. Stay away from the Liberal Arts, kids.

Old Man Whirly!

But yes... there is a global conspiracy of elites who are engaged in attempts to depopulate parts of the world, and centralise everything as much as possible. China is the model. I've seen enough to be pretty sure of that by now.

Even Bible prophecy indicates that there is a coming one world government, one world religion, one world currency in which everyone will be forced to take the mark of the beast (the antiChrist) either in their right hand or in their forehead or else they won't be able to buy or sell. Not sure what this mark will be but I suspect it'll be something like a microchip.

Many true believers (Christians) will be executed enduring this period which is officially called "The Great Tribulation."

Scribble
What part of the Bible is that? I'd be interested to take a look. I highly enjoy it when conspiracy theory gets esoteric. I live for that shit.

The book of Revelation of course talks about end time prophecy in great detail. Then there are even some books in the Old testament that make references to end-time prophecy.

Scribble
Do you have any parts specifically about the one-world stuff?

Revelation is always good stuff.

eThneoLgrRnae
Scribble, I think you should watch the video on You Tube called "After the Tribulation" as it talks about end-time prophecy in great detail and quotes a lot of the Bible. Assuming it hasn't been taken down already. It's pretty scary stuff though.

I'll look up the actual verses later. The battery on my phone is about to die and I hate it when I'm typing out a long post and that happens.

Over 2 billion people use WhatsApp, it offers end to end encryption that cannot be readily spied on, and it allows people to combine multiple apps into one communication app to centralize communication through that one app.

The article basically repeats the same exact points over and over the entire article and it became a very dull read.

It's more important for people to have secure communication methods than it is to censor 'wrong think.' People being killed or disenfranchised for "wrong think" in oppressive countries is a much bigger deal than someone's feelings getting hurt because their favorite politician was besmirched in a private WhatsApp convo.

Instead of trying to control everyone's speech like the Leninists, North Koreans, Chinese, and Nazis...

Foster private, secure, easy-to-use, communications. The idea or notion that politicians will secretly run private campaigns that are evil or insidious is retarded. Opponents of those political ideologies would quickly expose that behavior. The information age brings "agents of opposition" in every conversation. How can you be 100% sure that everyone you broadcast your political propaganda to will always 100% of the time agree with it? You can't and in fact, you can be 100% sure not everyone will agree with it and will tell the world about it. Especially if it was a private, encrypted, conversation. Streisand Effect is real.

The suggestion of making the core curriculum for children also include the basics of figuring out fake news is key. Children should be shown all the news articles where they claimed Trump said the white supremacists were "good people" and then compare that to Trump's actual words where he clearly was not talking about the white supremacists. That was one of the most dishonest and mass-fake-news phenomena I have ever seen. It was scary how quickly that fake news was spread and to this day, many people who didn't see that conference or read the transcript still believe that falsehood.

I don't tend to believe specific, detailed conspiracy theories as they are usually full of unverified info, but if you don't think that there are incredibly powerful groups controlling society from behind the scenes, then you haven't heard of banks and corporations... we can clearly see how they control governments. He's lying. No proof was posted. You cannot post proof of something that doesn't exist much less take it down.

Him adding "but it was taken down" was to add authenticity to the lie to make it sound more convincing.

You keep saying I know when I literally have no clue because I've spent the past six years mostly just chilling in the OTF

Do you have any parts specifically about the one-world stuff?

Revelation is always good stuff.

Here are lots of verses pertaining to the subject:

Isaiah 14:12-14, Daniel 2:41-42, Daniel 7:16-24, Revelation 12:1-17, Revelation 13:1-18, Revelation 17:13.

Keep in mind, the Bible never specifically uses the words "one-world government" or "one-world currency" or "one-world religion" but the concepts of them are clearly in there. Read all the verses to get the full context.

Also keep in mind that the Bible uses a lot of symbols when referring to prophecy (for example, the "dragon" mentioned in Revelation is obviously Satan, not a literal dragon although in the prophetic vision seen by the prophet it was a dragon).

One last thing: I recommend you use only the Authorized King James version of the Bible as all the modern-day versions are dangerous because they've all been corrupted.

You should also watch the movie on You Tube that I mentioned earlier. The whole movie is educational if you're interested in Bible prophecy but it specifically starts talking about the one-world government stuff and the antichrist around the 33:00 minute mark if that's all you're interested in.

Nice, I'll take a look at those verses. I'm generally most partial to the KJV anyways, modern versions are incredibly un-poetic and lose something in their attempts at 'purer' translations.

Isaiah is a book I'm fond of. There's lots of great stuff packed in there.

They are not even remotely more pure than the KJV. The KJV is literally God's words in English (yes, I know men wrote it but they were actually inspired directly by God). All the other versions are only "pure" in the sense that they're pure trash lol.
