I think as time goes on, the chances of one man or woman changing the world gets slimmer.
Purely because people as a race are growing more and more controlled by the media to the point that doing anything daring or out of the ordinary is unlikely.
Recycling. Me and my parents do it.
Emm.. being really loud about our opinions.. It gets it out there..
Being good people. You'd be suprised of what that can do..
And if I wasn't so hellbent on getting a girlfriend I'd do spells to help make the world a better place and spread positive karma. But my needs come first, I'm selfish but oh ****ing well.. I'm lonely *****..

Looking at you.
You are correct!! We are a part of the world, we influence everything around us just by being. If we change ourselves, we will change other around us. This is consistent with Buddhist philosophy.

Good movie right there.....I think the Book was slightly more entertaining but I wouldn't know the difference at the moment....
Now to the question...well by simply existig someone changes the world....not greatly but it adds up inn the long run. But since I guess you mean sudden changes I'd say that is not possible per definition since a person that can have such an impact in anjy way is just by having that impact already not an AVERAGE person anymore.
Every AVERAGE person should have the chance to become someone with greater impact, sadly enough this road is long and hard and not everyone is willing to put forward the effort.
