To make a long story short, he cured himself of full body paralysis. Using nothing but his will power/mind, and Faith in God. He broke in spine in two places after a plane crash.
He was completely paralyzed. He could only blink his eyes. He willed himself to move his fingers, through total concentration and obsession. He then forced himself to breathe on his own, without the help of ventilators.
He then willed himself to speak and walk.
Today he is perfectly well and healthy, motivating people all over the world that they too can take control of thier lives, no matter what.
Even though will power and hope has proven to be beneficial for people in such debilitating positions. I would have to suggest at first glance that the man's diagnosis was flawed. although, the column doesnt lean towards this. There are miracles every day in medicine.
I know Bardock was being fecetious, but there are cases all the time where renowned DR's are bewildered by recoveries from people whom sustained injuries that by all inferences boast impossible recoveries. People sometimes regain motor ability in instances where that achievement was thought impossible. A quadriplegic regaining full access of his body without any kind of medical intervention, however, sets off bulshit alarms.
This topic is most conflicting for me. Although, i do believe in miracles. I do not believe independant miracles. I believe if my arm suffers from a compound fracture. It will not heal simply through willing the bone to descend back underneath my skin and reattach itself.
It is an interesting column though, most inspiring.

A great testimony.
Reminds me of one I posted in the religion forum that sort of relates:
A woman in my church, Laurie Waters, has a young grandson named Jesse.
Last October, the boy (at age 2) fell out of the second story window of his house and landed on his stomach.
At Roseville Sutter hospital, the doctors examined him and discovered that his spleen had ruptured and that he had massive internal bleeding.
Not being equipped to deal with the situation properly, they had the boy air lifted by helicopter to UC Davis medical center.
All the while, Laurie is praying outside of where the boy was.
As they were transporting him to UC Davis, Jesse (who'd been unconscious the entire time) woke up and started talking to the medic in the helicopter.
By the time they'd landed, he was laughing with him, and upon examination had no internal bleeding, no rupture to his spleen, and no scar tissue.
False diagnosis? ...possible I suppose, but how they would see a rupture and massive bleeding and then see nothing, not even a hint of an injury is beyond me.
Another good one is a woman named Rosio who lives across the street from my in-laws, who had been diagnosed and suffering from Lupus.
All the tests were the same for 7 months, and she had all the symptoms: rashes, chest pains, swollen joints, fatigue, etc...
Well, this woman and her husband Gino had a good friend of our family, a Pastor Abraham from India, lay hands upon her and pray for her healing one night just this August at a home group at my in-laws house.
Needless to say, she went back to the doctors 2 weeks later and all 5 tests that had returned "positive" for last 7 months returned "negative".
The doctors had no explanation.
She and her husband both related this story to our entire church and described, a "cool, calming feeling that swept over the body" as they were prayed for and had hands laid on them.
Or my wife's dad, who was suffering from Hepatitus C... pooping blood and white feces over 20 years ago, and recieved his healing from prayer. (again, doctors confounded.)

I actually got his name from the Book "The Secret". Supposedly, he was using the "Law of Attraction".
Whether it was his Faith in God, or the power of his mind, the point is he cured himself of paralysis.
This isn't speculation, nor is it a "false diagnosis". You may be able to pull that one with Andrew Stimpson and his supposed recovery from HIV, but that can't be done here.
Morris Goodman WAS in fact, paralyzed due to two broken bones in his spinal cord. The accident is specific, if you read the link.
Within years he gained his motor ability, speech, etc. He's normal now, perfectly healthy. I know to all of you skeptics and negative thinkers, this seems impossible, but face it...it happened. A man cured himself of paralysis.
People have recovered from spinal injury before. One football player got kneed in the back of the neck, pulvorised one of his vertabraes, yet, he was able to walk after 6 monthsw or something.
I understand. Spinal Injury recovery is nothing unique. Great, but nothing new.
Morris Goodman's case was far more than just mere spinal injury. This was full blown paralysis. Understand the damages:
-broken spinal cord in two places (his neck broke at c1 and c2)
-crushed diagphram
-most of his muscles were mutiliated by the accident
-most of his bones, including his jaw, were broken
-his lungs were useless-he was hooked to an artificial respirator
So my freind, his injuries were far more than simple spinal injury.
Yet in a few years, he returned to full health. With his mind, he healed himself.
Every single day he imagined his fingers moving. And in a few weeks, they did.
He commanded his torso to expand little by little, taking small breaths. Each day increasing the amount. Soon he was able to breathe using his abdominal muscles instead of his upper diaphram. He was released from the artificial ventilators.
Within a year he was able to form a full sentence.
Afterwards, in a wheel chair, he commanded his feet and legs to move little by little.
A few years later, he began walking again.
Today he is perfectly fine, and is a motivational speaker all over the world.
There are claims that his Faith in God, and the Law of Attraction, were utilized to help him heal to full recovery.
Who knows...the point is he willed himself to health. Every single day he obsessed over getting his motion and body back. He did not accept paralysis. HE fought back and won.
Doubt all you want, but it happened. And like I said before, this is not speculation. His injuries are medically documented, the plane crash and injuries were cited and on the news, he was in serious critical condition, and today he is perfectly fine.
No scientific explanation can be made for what just happened, hence why he is dubbed "Miracle Man".
Morris Goodman claims that anyone can do what he did. He simply had the will to push himself to do it.
Lord XYZ- please tell me the name of the footballer you speak of, so I can do my research. I am not saying what happened to Morris Goodman was a miracle...I beleive he utilized the human ability to heal. It's something we just collectively do not understand.
Zeal- this guy was paralyzed. His body was nearly destroyed, it wasn't simply spinal injury, it was far more than that.
Secondly, he needed the help of artifical respirators to breathe. I doubt he would wait seven years to move again, if he could have just moved all along.
