you have to go to court and convince the court that youre either extremely unhappy living with them or theyre sucky parents in which case theyll either give you new ones or theyll put you in like an orphan type of deal.

i paid a lawyer 10 grand for a case that lasted a full yr and 10 minutes of court time and charges dropped just so he could say exactly what i had bn saying from the minute of my arrest... 5 yrs later i found out i could have actually filled out my own paper work and looked up my charges at a public law library in one of the court buildings....

You can't stop being related to them, just as much as you can't change your birthday. It is just a fact of your life. You have however no obligation to take care of them or ever see them as far as I know. You can basically cut them out of your life and never see them or talk to them again.

No, you don't have to take care of a debt that you have not created or don't have a stake in, as far as I know.
They may however ask the closest relative to pay for the funeral, however I think even that you can refuse depending on the laws.

im giving the information with the assumption that the reason for this person wanting to be separated from their parents is because said parents are abusive/incompetent douchebags.
if theyre not... well... why go through the trouble of trying to get away from them.

...how is that wrong? You got 500$, not any debt. I never said that his debt wouldn't be paid with his assets. I said you wouldn't have to pay it.
