Enjoyed the video, and also didn't notice your thread until now. Hmm, something shockingly familiar about the title of your topic. Surely you posted this after Putrumpin and..*looks at times both topics were psoted* oh. So indeed, this topic butthurt someone so much they created a topic to mock it.
Hilarious, you know you got under that persons skin. I doubt they even watched the video, just seeing that it dissed CNN probably was enough to trigger them.
Truth is the thing with Trump and CNN was vastly overblown, with some acting like it was the end of journalism as we know it. I would have felt perhaps more sympathy for CNN if I hadn't seen their bullshit in the past with my own eyes. Anyone disturbed by the event..fret not:
Thankfully the Obama administration treated everyone, especially FOX, quite well at various things like press conferences, so there was never a need for this type of landmark meeting before.

Yeah, I think CNN is getting way more flak in this case than they deserve. CNN has definitely done some shady and stupid things in the past, and have earned plenty of criticism over the last few years. I don't know what it is about CNN, maybe the new ownership, but there's been a very clear shift in the quality of their reporting over the last few years.
But anyways, in this case I don't think CNN really did anything wrong - they essentially reported that intelligence agencies told Trump and Obama that Russia has potentially damaging information on Trump, which was true, and the only reason they reported that much is because McCain met with Comey and gave him the dossier with the supposed information in it, and CNN didn't really report the details that were in the dossier; they didn't report the salacious stuff, that was all buzzfeed's doing. And even after buzzfeed reported it CNN was very hesitant to get into that stuff and avoided details entirely. But it seems like Trump and some others are lumping CNN and Buzzfeed together here, which is incorrect and not very fair.
Also, the way he says "so-called journalists from the Huffington Post, Slate, CNN, and Univision" is priceless.
LOL you went there. But yeah, you hit the nail on the head. This is just a blatant hypocrisy on the Left and Liberals's side. Comments from that clip also point that out:
or my favorite:

They didn't report the salacious stuff, just of course told you where to find it all. After CNN was the one who initially broke the story in the first place before Buzzfeed, with a story that boiled down to "Obama and Trump were given some unverified reports".
Buzzfeed saw this, posted the reports. Then CNN and others seized on it, being very careful not to call it true or divulge too much information, while of course telling you where to find it and spreading the story further.

The part of the story that CNN broke is obviously news worthy - That Russia potentially has tapes that could compromise the incoming president. From CNN's perspective, the fact that the intelligence community thought it was worthy of telling Obama and Trump, and the fact that John McCain thought it was worth passing along to the head of the FBI, made it news worthy. If they wanted to report it frivolously they had plenty of opportunities since these dossiers and memos had been circulating for months before CNN reported on them.
Lol but it didn't even go through proper channels though, you realize that, correct? The report, I mean? With the way it made it's way to Trump and Obama?
Also what you just said didn't change the fact that they set the stage and then immediately pounced once Buzzfeed printed it, gleefully telling readers where it could be found. They might as well have just linked directly to buzzfeed. Can you not see how, even a tiny bit, shit like that just reinforces the story?
Then they are utterly aghast at being called out, as if they have never pulled bullshit before. But of course they have.
I love seeing them get manipulated though, since they more or less bashed Buzzfeed more than they bashed Trump, even after the press conference lol.
To be fair CNN is less likely to full fabricate a story, they are more sly, just editing out key details in order to mislead an audience they obviously feel is dumb as f*ck.

What do you mean proper channels? I was under the impression that the intelligence community simply told Trump and Obama that there are reports that Russia may have bad info on Trump. And that's all CNN initially reported.
I understand what you're saying with how they "gleefully" reported buzzfeed's dump, but all news networks, save Fox News, were reporting on that in very awkward ways. It was amusing to watch them dance around the bush and hint at "personal information" but not really saying what it was. And I have trouble blaming CNN here for something Buzzfeed did. It's not as if when CNN reported on the fact that Obama and Trump were told that Russia may have bad info on Trump that they knew Buzzfeed would release an unverified dossier that says Trump likes getting pissed on.
I'm not saying there's no fair criticism of CNN here, perhaps they rushed the story, perhaps they didn't think through the potential outcome of publishing said story without fully vetting it. But those aren't the same as "fake news". This was real news perhaps published incorrectly.
This is what hayseeds like Surtur and Polanski are unable to understand. Fake news would be Breitbart outright fabricating a story for no other reason than to spread fear and hate. Or World Weekly News' stories on Batboy.

I don't know why some of you are going on about being right and winning. Rob and Impediment were in on this gag because I PMed them. Silent and Rao PMed me and figured I changed the post. I highly doubt anybody thought Quan made the post, but simply played along just for the lulz.
My favorite part is when a news anchor openly states that CNN is biased and helps Hillary:
At 1:30 mark:
Also, the clip shows many examples of CNN "losing satelite connection" or "cutting sound" whenever an argument that does not fit their narrative was being presented. Oops.
You'd need to be pretty naive to think that media outlets especially in the US have any onus upon them to be impartial. It's quite telling also that many outlets supported Clinton given they're run by billionaires with right wing agendas of suppressing wages and employee rights. It kind of puts paid to the notion that the Democrats are in any way left wing or liberal beyond token gestures.
CNN's own definitions for fake news seem to include one where a story is a mixture of fact and fiction. Which is of course exactly what they did with the Milwaukee riots story.

I'm hearing shit about John McCain handing documents off to people and shit. Do you not find it odd a completely utterly unverified report made its way into the hands of Obama and Trump?
They didn't know that Buzzfeed would post it true, but they sure as hell pounced after they did post it.
Perhaps the term should be replaced with "shady news" since it describes CNN perfectly. All fake news would be shady, but not all shady news would be fake.

I don't really find that odd, no. I imagine the president gets many unverified reports from various people, about rumors that are out there and what not, they just usually don't get leaked and we just usually don't hear about them.
I don't mind news agencies having a political tilt one way or the other in their commentary shows/columns. It's when they blatantly cover up for one side and not another, demonize one side much more than the other, openly back one side, etc. in their hard news. The public deserves pure, unfiltered news.
