ANyone ever noticed that in all of Tolkien's works that certain numbers keep coming up? U know, 9 rings, 3 elven rings, 3 pearls of Osse? etc
Can anyone find some others?

Seven stars in Elendil's emblem, seven tribes and forefathers and rings of Dwarves, seven Palantíri, seven sons of Feanor, the White Tree with seven flowers, "seven stars and seven stones" in the poem, seven rivers in Ossiriand and seven in Southern Gondor, seven stars in the Valacirca-sign, seven levels and gates in Minas Tirith, seven gates and walls on the way to Gondolin, the city of the seven names, and the chamber of Mazarbul on the 7th sole of Moria... for example ^^*

And... wasn't there someone who blew his horn seven times in some for-some-reason-extraordinarily-important situation?
And there are seven beacons in Gondor... if I remember correctly at some point Túrin had 49=7*7 companions... we live in the Seventh Age of the Sun... seven Balrogs...

3-7-9
the most common number in Tolkien's story....is their a hidden meaning? what is the correlation to these numbers?
if you add these numbers together you get 19, then add 1+9=10, 1+0=1
1? could that mean, the ONE ring? dun dun duuuuuuun

The strangest thing is still the fact that the order in which the rings are mentioned in the verse of the rings is 3-7-9-1 and Tolkien died in 1-9-7-3
