hahah ska lives and breaths through my veins... and if you knew anyhting bout ska you would know that less than jake is a horrible example of a good ska band.
for your information i was brought up on classic ska. the kind back in the days of Trojan Ska. Laurel Aitken, The Riots...all that kinda stuff. i also like contempary ska like Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Mad Caddies etc. cos its more punky.
dont doubt me amlap. if theres one thing i know about, its music. ask anybody here.
still...compared to other bands of the third wave ska generation, less than jake's sound offers nothing new or interesting to the ska scene. they were jsut lucky enough to break through and make a couple bucks. they are by far NOT one of the greatest ska bands of all time, nor are they the greatest of the third wave.
I love Less Than Jake as well. And I can't believe you would call them overrated, but you are entitled to your opinion. My opinion is that they are great. Ska is the greatest genre of music ever.
Mad Caddies are the best ska band around now, and perhaps of all time. I just can't get enough of them. But who is, in your opinion, the best ska band(s) of the "third wave"?
I also like Reel Big Fish, who, I suppose, is part of that "third wave".
