ARTIFACT 4-WAY SABRE FIGHT! Mah and Bespin Bart vs. Persis and Majora
THE SET-UP: The Dark Siders have risked all by coming to Malastare to get the Artifact of the story- the last remaining Sith Astrolabe, a navigational device vital for using the maps they retrieved from Avalar in the first story, so that they may find their target, the Mausoleum of Demnos. The Astrolabe is held by rich businessman Kir Ascar. Under orders from Kuylen only to use force in the last resort, the Dark Siders have little success bargaining for it. The Jedi, tipped off by the Supreme Chancellor as to the Dark Sider's whereabouts, discover their plan and, beleiving the Dark Siders to already have the location, race to get the astrolabe themsevles to pursue them. An amused Ascar creates a situation where he promises the astrolabe to both sids if they will win a pod race (for the details of which, see the pod racing thread).
As it is, the Jedi win, and come to colllect their prize. The Dark Siders activate their emergency plan, their alliance with the Order of Miramar, dangerous assassins from beyond the Rim. They assail the Jedi but the Jedi fight their way to the bottom of Ascar's building with the artifact. There, it seems that Ascar's bodyguard Persis is more than just a hunk, with a sabre and force-powers of his own, and a small army that wishses neither side to have the astrolabe. As Ascar makes his escape, a three way fight breaks out between the Jedi (backed by the police), the Dark Siders (backed by the Miramar) and Persis (backed by his secuirty force). The fight is large and disorientating, fought in smoke and dust and fire.
It was a surprise to many that Persis seems to have the Force and skill with a sabre. Twice as much when Ascar's secretary, Majora, also draws a sabre and joins the fight! Jedi Knight Mah and Renegade Xeth, back to back, will fight these two together...
HOW THIS WORKS: Our first ever multi-fight! First, here is a reminder of how duelling works:
The duellists take it in turns to attack each other. The attacker describes his attack and then the defender describes his defence. One person will succeed- a decision I make based on the skill of the fighters, the quality and appropriateness of their post, and a small random factor. I control Persis and Majora in this fight, with a further random determination made to see how appropriate his response is.
The winner of the round scores a point, and then the attacker and defender swap places. Aside from taunts, no other moves can be made except the single move or countermove you make each round! If drawn, the attacker wins
First to five points wins the duel, but like in tennis you must win by two clear points. The amount of points by which you win a duel is how dictates what happens to the loser- a two point loss is a superficial wound, more is losing a limb, a five point win kills your opponent outright. Regardless, you cannot pursue a defeated opponent no matter what; if you lose a duel (and survive) you can always escape.
At the start of any round, either combatant may try to flee.
Now, the complication comes with there being four people. Each rounf, I will designate who is attacking and who is defending. The attacker makes a post to attack that target, and the defender defends as noenmal. The other two combatants may make posts to support their friend in either attack or defence- this may help OR hinder, depending!
Instead of people scoring points, sides score points. Whenever Xeth or Mah win a round, their side scores a point. Whenever Persis or Majora win one, THEY score. Whenever a side reaches five points and is at least two points ahead, they have struck ONE of the other side- the one who has lost the most rounds out of the two (or the current defender/attacker, if even).
The one that is hit is out of the fight, the other can then choose to run or keep on fighting, two against one, in which case the scores are reset and we go again.
ANALYSIS:
Persis and Majora have trained hard to be good fighters, and they are strong and fit. But not QUITE as good as the Jedi. Persis ois better than Majora but still not quite as all-round quality as his two opponents, who have the edge.
Persis attacks and goes first. His target is Mah. Xeth and Majora are in support.

"You Jedi really are contemptible creatures!" says Persis, evenly. After a few stylish twirls, he suddenly dashes forwards and performs an upwards cross slash. Mjora dives towards Xeth and tried to keep him engaged and away from his partner.

Mah was ready for being attacked when Persis started his twirs, and when he attacks Mah quickly swings his sabre upwards and blocks Persis' slash, then force-pushes at Persis to drive him backwards.

Mah, your timing is perfect. Your block is storng, and Persis uses his forceful mass to try and drive you back (and you sense the strength of the Dark Side in him), but your push drives him away. He shouts out in anger, and prepares to return to the fray.
Meanwhile Xeth, you must now struggle to get by Majora.

Xeth to attack. Majora to defend.
Persis threatens to strike your back if you turn to try and help Xeth, Mah.
(NOTE TO ALL PLAYERS! The current fightijg is time-limited by several factors. I have decided that all fights will end after TWO are decided by victory. Once two fights are won, the other fights end as draws regardless of position)

Using the Force, Xeth starts dashing towards Majora and twirls his saber very quickly in his hand. He then fakes a blow to the right side of Majora's head and goes for her right arm.

The feint works will. A clearly irritated Majora has to hop back to avoid losing her fightign arm, and you are able to bear down on her.

Balls, I have messed up the order this should be done in ALREADY. Large bottoms! That was combo eight of eight rather than two of eight. Now I have to swap ANOTHER two or poor Xeth gets four goes in a row!
Majora to attack. Mah to defend.
As Persis keeps you at bay, Mah, he and Majora suddenly both twirl and swap places at once! Xeth, you are surprirsed as Majora is replaced by the far larger bulk of Persis, who holds guard against you.
Majora suddenly shoots down on one knee to her side, coming down under your guard, Mah, and stabbing in towards your midriff.

As support, Xeth slashes forwards simply just to lock blades with Persis, and then pushes hard to push Persis backwards into the fray around them.

Majora is too mobile for you, Mah- she certainly is not slow! She spins on her foot in her crouching position, and you nearly land ON her sabre. You force yourself back just in time, stumbling a little...

After pushing Persis back towards the fray, Xeth twirls his saber and does a back-handed style, and then lunges at the hitman. He attempts to skewer Persis' head or chest.

Persis' matches your blow perfectly. He is certainly a dextrous fighter! He smiles at you for a moment, and then whips up his sabre in a vicious counter that send you sprawling back!
Persis/Majora- 2 Mah/Xeth- 2
Majora to attack, Xeth to defend
Majora only clashes again with you for a brief moment, Mah, before suddenly performing a greatly acrobatic set of backflips until she reaches the sprawling Xeth, who she slashes-at in mid flip!

Afraid I have to move this on!
The double-teaming of Persis and Majora pays dividends, as Xeth blocks Majora's blow but the kick to the head she follows it up with on the next flip hits him square and he is knocked back. You must rush over to defend your friend, Mah, before Majora cuts him down.

Five rounds in and the battle royale still rages on all around! Persis' security force has been almost entirely cut down. The Miramar, with great skill and fanatacism, cut down many on all sides but are beginning to converge, Jedi in AOTC style, as the police bring in more and more reinforcements. Many police lie dead and from otuside you can hear the sound of yet further battle, involving vehicles.
At one side of the room, Gundark struggles under the relentless swing of Chion's sabre. She looks like she may JUST now be adapting to his style but she is tiring. At the other end, the four way fight of Persis and Majora versus Xeth and Mah has descended into a sprawling mess, each side taking quick opportunistic blows as the situation presents itself- but the discipline of the Jedi showing through. Corelay's youthful enthusiasm seems to be getting the better of Takuan's great instinct, yet the padawan is prone to error. And Master Marcus, at first taken aback by Galder's ferocity, is getting the measure of his furious opponent.
Here comes the fun bit...
Mah, this latest set of moves has now meant that you and Persis are seperated from Majora and Xeth by the hulking mass of Chion fighting with Gundark! The two fights are now entangled!
Mah to attack, Majora to defend.
Persis rushes towards to intercept you best as possible, Mah. And bear in mind that your moves may now affect the Chion/Gundark duel, or vice versa!

Mah runs swiftly over to where Majora is attacking Xeth, and quickly gets to blocking Majoras swipe. He then kicks her back and takes a diagonal slash at her when she's out of balance.

This is CHAOS! The following happens!
Mah and persis both dash towards Xeth. Xeth aims a force-push at Persis, who is so focussed at beating Mah that it hits him directly, making him fall. But now Majora has an execution shot at Xeth. Gundark then leaps BETWEEN Majora and Xeth with a Master-powered force-leap, and blocks the fatal blow. She hopes to lure Chion into striking Majora but Chion's ENORMOUS arcing sweep (which now scares the shit out of Xeth and Mah as well, after Gundark has learnt to fear it) is checked in time, as Chion has great combat instinct.
Then Majora spins to defend herself from Mah, blocks his blow, and then gets kicked in the chest and falls backwards. Gundy must back away again as Chion comes forwards once more, and the fight seperate... SOMEWHAT.

Persis/Majora- 3 Mah/Xeth- 3
I have decided to re-alter the combat sequence otherwise Xeth just gets too much hassle in a row! I think it has all worked out anyway...
Persis to attack, Xeth to defend
Xeth, you pull yourself tp your feet as Majora and Persis dop the same. Persis at once initaites a huge, force-jump attack right for your midriff!
BTW, Mah, Chion's next swing at Gundark- his continuous sabre arc he is always swinging- his about to cut you in half. You are not close ejough to him to counter attack and you have no idea what will happen if you try and block it...

Mah, you dodge, and are then somewhat horrified to see Master Gundark attempt to interpose herself with the blow you have dodhged anyway! She blocks the vast side swing but the force is such that she is propelled across the room and lands painfully nearby- though your fights are now disentangled at least.
Xeth, Persis blurs past you as you dive out of his way, and you are up first and meet his blow evenly. Majora tries to get over to help him, but Mah, you are ready to stop her...
