Well ... the thing that's available in the USA is the OVA's, and they're pretty underwhelming. The anime series isn't available here, and I don't think the manga is, so I can't tell you about them.
Let me see if I can remember anything about the OVA for you ... some creepy monsters; I'll give it that. It only includes the English dub; no Japanese audio. Lots of gratuitous female nudity, especially in the second part. As gory as you'd expect. Quite disjointed; you get the impression that a lot of important stuff was left out.
The anime Devil Lady, also by Go Nagai, and apparently a spin-off/reimaging of Devilman with a female protagonist, is available in the USA, and is pretty entertaining, although what I've seen so for as pretty episodic "monster of the week" stuff.
