I think they made the movie Thing WAY TOO WEAK. In the Fantastic Four movie he was probly only around the CL 30 range, while he should be a low level Class 100.

I also think they severly weakened the Hulk for the movie, but not as much as the Thing. In the Hulk movie he was probly only around the CL 80 range, while he should be a medium to high level Class 100.

So yea, Movie Thing would get the shit beat out of him by Movie Hulk.

The explanation of this inflation by writers is that his body was still mutating. The Thing's strength is of an inferior order to the Hulk, although for a brief time in the late 1980's he was at "Class 100" strength level (able to lift/press in excess of 100 tons)due to increased exposure to cosmic rays.

Aside from his great physical advantages, the Thing is an excellent pilot, although air craft has to be specially designed for him to fly it. His agility and reflexes, despite his enormous bulk, are that of an athlete. Ben's gruff mannerism and his tendency to do the major physical labor of Reed Richard's projects hide the fact that he is actually an intelligent and well educated man. As he was once a member of street gang, the Thing is an excellent street fighter and also has experience with wrestling. His appearance belies his intellect and his agility as a fighter, leading foes to underestimate him.
