Onslaught vs Defenders

Who wins? This is Onslaught with the Charles,Magneto,X-Man & Franklin Richards. He has the Cyttorak gem too.No prep. This is a 80s line up

Defenders
Doctor Strange, Hulk, Namor, Silver Surfer,Captain America, Clea, Cloud, Daredevil, Devil Slayer, Falcon, Gargoyle, Ghost Rider, Havok, Hercules, Hawkeye, Hellcat, Hellstorm, Howard the Duck, Iceman, Iron fist, Interloper, Jack of Hearts, Manslaughter, Moondragon, Nighthawk, Nova,Overmind,Spiderman,Stingray, Torpedo,Valkyrie, Vision, Wasp, White Tiger,Wonder Man, Yellowjacket. Captain Ultra,Paladin, Nomad, Spider-Woman, Namorita, Sleepwalker, Thunderstrike, War Machine, Northstar, Nova, Doctor Druid, Luke Cage, Shadowoman, Cadaver, Giant-Man,US Agent, Dagger, Deathlok II.

Agreed. They way they beat him in the comics in the first place seems very unfeasible to me.

How is it that someone with insane telepathy and reality warping abilities are incapable of killing off a the x-men?

Frankly, you could have half or a quarter of the people there and the defenders would still win. Everyone there is basically canon fodder to protect the magicians. Primarily Dr. Strange. He alone, could take Onslaught. Just give him even 30 seconds of cover and it's game over. cool

Defenders should win, but I totally agree that the bad writing of the Onslaught saga could allow Onslaught a win.

Most of these guys don't really count for much, even with all the class 100s on the team, but they would provide a distraction for Silver Surfer, Strange, Clea, Overmind, maybe even Hellstorm, GRider & Havoc to hit him with various magics, cosmic power, & telepathy.

Overmind is an interesting one. At full power he was able to pummel the Stranger, and even claimed he was capable of overpowering up to 3 Watchers at once.

Oh lordy. The only chance The Defenders have is Dr. Strange with most of the Defenders around Stephen as a temporary side distraction for Onslaught.

Save for Silver Surfer and Dr. Strange, Onslaught does the polka dance through the rest of the Defenders without using Franklin's reality warping powers....

He also threw in the Cyttorak gem. Thats gonna make invulnerable to physical attacks. So all those bricks can be disregarded.

The only people i see doing anything here are Dr. Strange, Surfer, Dr. Druid, Clea, Ghost Rider, Overmind, Jack of Hearts (maybe), Iceman (maybe), and possibly Thunderstrike.

I say Defenders bite the dust.
