Hell yeah.

Freaking wipe out everything within a thousand miles it looks, the shock wave alone could probably injure people a few 1000 miles more away at least.

The fallout would then proceed to kill nearly everything in the western hemisphere, and the debris shot into the atmosphere would more then likely lower the temp of the earth for a few years, killing a good majority of plants and wildlife.

Yeah, that's much more then 10 megatons, hell the TSAR BOMB (50 megatons) had a blast radius of about 20-30 miles, and the mushroom cloud shot up to like 15 miles.

Like I said, that's like, 1000 mile blast radius, and looks to reach out into space with its mushroom cloud.

Since it's hitting in the Yucatan area, I'm guessing it's supposed to represent the KT extinction (the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs)

Yea, that's a pic of the KT asteroid collision, not a 10 megaton bomb.

That explosion would be in the tetratons of force.

No he doesn't have to - let's just go with it.

Nobody under full-fledged herald level should survive a collision/explosion of that magnitude without advance warning or prep.

Of course, I fully expect the x-fanboys to come in here with their Magneto, Storm, and Iceman bullcrap.

I'm going to guess a few hundred gigatons or maybe up to a tetraton. I take it that's Antarctica, and a blast that would cover that much area on such a large continent would have to throw enough debris into the atmosphere to pretty much thrust the entire Earth into a "nuclear" winter that would last months, maybe even years and cause an extinction-like event.

but its comics, and I bet everything was fine and dandy the next day - sun shining and all.

Cool,

I'm just trying to gauge one of the various blasts Solar can generate.

I got a huge problem with that scan that I bet most people wouldn't even realize -

Why is Antarctica so small in comparison to the curvature of the sphere of the Earth? Antarctica is a large continent and isn't depicted quite to it's proper scale in that scan.
