Alright… I was supposed to make this days ago, but unfortunately things got a bit out of hand offline, anyways…
This wasn’t my idea, but I’ve taken it on board and decided to see if it’s at all feasible…
What’s being proposed is a proper respect thread for the Comic Vs, where the best of the forum can be showcased for all to see… The negative rep the Vs gets annoys me quite a bit, so this would be a good way to show those other Vs forums who’s top dog…
Basically, you choose a thread, a sequence of posts within a thread, or even just one post… Give a short description to give the context of the post (as completely new people could end up reading it), and a description of why it’s worthy of inclusion in the thread…
Assuming it passes, it will be put into the thread (which will be locked) with the first post constantly being edited as a list of each post and a short description…
Individual posts will be contained within the thread, while anything too large will simply be linked to, but the explanation will obviously be given…
For a successful inclusion of topics/posts in the thread, there are considerations that will come into effect:
a) No Spidey v Firelord feats… I don’t care how good the post is, if it doesn’t stick to consistency in comics then it won’t be included…
b) As such, characters must be within reach of each other power wise… If you think Aquaman can take Hal, fine, but I don’t want to see him taking on Odin either…
c) I will personally do my best to make sure bias doesn’t come into what threads are chosen and what ones aren’t that are submitted to me… You think Wolverine can take Cyclops? Good for you. Kyle can take Hal? Fine. You think Power Girl can take Superman? Sure. Juggernaut batters Thor? Alrighty. The post just has to be put together well enough to give a good, proper argument.
d) If a mod (including myself) is initially sceptical about the process, see if you can get a few people to put their names down to support the inclusion of the argument, you never know it might work…
Just a few things:
a) This is not a backslapping thread… I don’t want people recommending post just because their friend said so (that’s not including point d I made earlier)
b) This isn’t going to be a debating thread, so I don’t want new posts for it… Use stuff that’s been posted already.
c) The mods reserve to right to refuse to include any post they deem just not good enough.
d) This is NOT a comedy thread. If it’s not a well-written argument, its not wanted.
e) Generally, I’d like to keep tourney stuff out of this, as there’s already a respect thread for that…
f) Last but not least, and I can’t stress this enough… No matter how good the post is, bashing (to an extent of course) will disqualify the post straight away.
Ok, last few points…
There will be posts that will be refused for whatever reasons are necessary… It shouldn’t be taken as a personal slight, but hopefully an amicable solution can be reached…
If the thread takes off and does well, a voting system such as the one in the tier thread may be introduced for posts that might raise questions as to whether they should be included or not…

OMG me? Gee willies. Nah, I can see Desaad, Quan, some of the Elitist, and lot's of old posters who don't post anymore making it. This could revive alot of long dead arguments and bring life back into some really good threads. I used to love those GS/MM pheonix debates.
That is not a good idea. Storm fans simply argue by refusing to give in to logic and by standing by extrapolated hyperbole. Same as arguing with 3-year olds -- you may be logically superior, but you will never get a 3-year old to accept that. As for master, he has his pros/cons, but only debates high cosmics. Storm will never be a high cosmic.
