You are putting someone capable of stalemating Galactus against Emma, who while is impressive on her own level cannot hope to actually take wins here.

Edit: Threads with Jean sans Phoenix do not work. Retcons state she has always been the Phoenix and it is a part of her. There aren't scans of her inbetween early X-Men and Phoenix's introduction to even consider forming a solid opinion on her power level.
phoenix came along afterwards into jean greys life. every time jean uses her powers to contact someone or move an object telepathically thats her every day mutant powers that she was born with. has nothing to do with phoenix.
sigh... aside from ppl wanting to add the phoenix to every jean appearance since her inception and claim it as a retcon that must be adhered to and factored in, no it doesnt...
anyways jean has always bn a flake most of her career even without the phoenix her power lvl and skill lvl has always seem to be a roller-coaster ride..
60's jean is a stomp in emmas favor not much to argue for jean here..
her 80's 90's were more stable versions of jean but aside from somewhat better control of her powers her CIS always seems to be the problem.. fighting someone as ruthless as emma it would cost jean if she is trying to hold back and has some kind of emotional breakdown... i would still give emma the win over a non phoenix power jean..
i really cant stand jean she has very few high showings against a guy like Apocalypse fighting alongside her x team but she also has way too many low showings where she is being overpowered by sheer will from nobodies with no psi powers at all....
