Plastic Man had some impressive moments in Morrison's JLA but he feel off hard imo afterward. Their best bet is John's telepathy in combination with an attack. If they take Thor straight up, I'm favoring the Odinson. It also doesn't help that both members of the team are weak to the elements. John to extreme fire, and Plastic Man to extreme cold.
I can think of maybe one or two notable ones afters Kelly's run but that's about it. Been a long time since I read v3. Was it Galan or Mungi who was knowledgeable when it came to Plastic Man? I forget.
if j'onn fights smart and primarily uses a mixture of TP and intangibility, he has the potential to give thor a whole lot of trouble by himself. much the same can be said about eel (see his battle with fernus.)
together they certainly have the potential to take a solid majority, imo.
i'm pretty familiar with him, but i'm certainly no chief authority.

Plastic Man has the unique capability to all but completely occupy Thor should he choose to fight physically. That's his biggest asset to this team- he wouldn't possess the means to actually take Thor down by any measure, but if he goes for
or any tactic similar to that, he'd give J'onn plenty of opportunity to utilize telepathy or even straight up punching an unaware Thor (since x-ray vision would allow him to see through Eel, who would be unaffected when J'onn punched through him to Thor's unprotected head/vital organs/whatever).
It may be wishful thinking to imagine that Eel would have the opportunity to try that tactic in the first place though. Meh.
Of course he would, look at Thor fight Hulk, which is a consistent thing. He fights like an idiot, when he could easily finish him with the amount of power he wields (or so we think).
