HP Doomsday vs Fernus

Fernus vs HP Doomsday

Who wins?

IIRC both defeated impressive JLA teams.

Can Fernus replicate Chester's feat? I think he can.

Fernus ftw.

Ches simply planted an idea in DD's mind and set him loose(he essentially made DD think the Probes were Superman.) Even IF Fernus could duplicate that feat, it likely wouldn't help him for very long in a forum setting, given the default battlefield on KMC is a relatively small, featureless environment. That said, it probably wouldn't take long for DD to realize that Fernus is the only being on the field for him to attack. As for actually trying to control DD's mind to any extent: that usually doesn't end well... For anyone. /shrug

Imo.

yeah, fernus might make some type of suggestive attack, but....with no one around to nudge him towards, this would end quickly and badly for fernus. that's assuming he wouldn't have simply evolved beyond that type of attack. /shrug

Didn't Brainiac mind control Doomsday? Not permanently, obv, but long enough to count as a forum win?

^ While DD was in a stasis, yes.

Even Brainiac made it quite clear that the 'procedure' would NOT have worked otherwise(and like you said: his control ultimately failed anyway, because DD's mind cannot be controlled for long.)

Brainiac's peon took him out of stasis. Iirc, DD started trashing Brainiac's lab right before Brainy transferred his mind into DD. He did mind control him for quite some time.
Darktaint may have something here.

^ That was very case-specific, though, as DD had just come out of a complete stasis literally seconds before Brainiac overtook him. I certainly don't think that equates to Fernus being able to waltz up and mind-rape a fully raging DD or w/e -- especially given the instances where extremely uber telepaths, like Maxima and Bloodwynd/J'onn, were explicitly unable to phuck with DD's mind, due to him being "rage incarnate" or whathaveyou. Even Eradicator, who is pure energy/information, was only able to overtake the unconscious mind/body of a clone of the original Doomsday for a few minutes, before it spit him out for the same reason(s)... Doomsday's mind may be relatively simplistic, but it is also extremely formidable. /shrug

That said, is it possible that Fernus can insert subtle telepathic suggestions into DD's mind, like Ches did? Most likely. Would that help him much in this specific battle? Probably not. Tbh, I'd wager that even IF it worked, DD(especially THIS iteration) would swiftly evolve immunity to Fernus' TP -- it certainly wouldn't be the only esoteric power he's adapted beyond on the fly. /shrug

Wasn't he basically in full rage mode when Brainy transferred his mind into DD?
DD was trapped in stasis immediately after the point he was sent to the end of time by Supes/Waverider.
The moment the stasis was dropped, he went straight into trashing the place.
I guess this comes down to whether Fernus's tp is on par with Brainy's?

Also I think it was only Max who tried mind phukking DoS DD on panel. Bloodwynd seems to have let her do it because he was being secretive about his powers.

^ 'Full' rage-mode? No. His 'standard' rage-mode? Possibly.

I was more referring to Doomsday Rex(a FAR inferior clone of the original) outright beating J'onn's telepathy:

*And before anyone says: "that's only cuz Rex wuz intelligent!!!!!" -- I would remind you that it was made abundantly clear that Rex's intelligence/sentience only made him WEAKER than the original. thumb up

No your absolutely right. In superman v2 #175 it was specifically mentioned that dd rex was literally cloned from the remnants of the original dd after imperiex killed him in owaw. Only difference is that rex was also spliced with a bit of kryptonian DNA to make him more controllable via kryptonite exploitation. He was also more intelligent than the original but like you said that only made him weaker.

Tldr; rex's feats are absolutely indicative of what the original dd can do. The original was far superior afterall. thumb up

If you're against my using it, then yes, I want you to give me a logical explanation.
