^^ thats exactly true. even in the Bible, Jesus didnt go to the temple to pray. you can pray to God anyplace anytime. Church's can be just big mokeymakers sometimes.

This popped straight into my head as soon as I read the title of this thread.
And please guys, try not to be so hard on Jackie. I totally ripped into her as soon as she joined, but I think credit needs to be given simply because she bypassed the OTF in favour of here, and still a n00b!

My opinion is: Its not a sin, to miss church, (although, I rarely if ever miss church, cuz I thk thats his day and I shld be there) but when a person misses 1 sunday, you tend to continually keep missing, then you stop reading, stop praying....til you stop everything. The bible also says to Assemble yourself w/believers. You need that fellowship, and you grow spiritually going to church along w/growing in your everyday life.
You guys had answeared my question good so far and alot of it makes sences in a way.

Just to stick my oar in.... The Bible commands the worshippers of jehovah to keep "His Sabbath..." this was held to begin at sundown on Friday night, and carry on until sundown on Saturday... until the 2nd century, this sabbath was kept by Christians and Jews, until anti-semitic laws were passed... as teh Romans were trying to distance their "Christianity" from the original jewish form, Christians were put under increasing pressure not to "Judaize..." They were encouraged by Constantine the Great, worshipper of Sol Invictus, to combine their day of worship with that of the Sun-god... hence the Sabbath was moved to Sunday... therefore, ever since, any Christian who keeps Sunday as the sabbath is breaking the commandment to keep holy the sabbath given by God....
...and are usually 100 times more hypocriticial, too.
Going to church is more for fellowship than worship, IMO. Worship, I can do in the privacy of my own home, which makes the relationship a lot more intimate and personally gratifying.
