"The Walkway of Uncertainty"

I felt compelled to write another piece, I may just start my own thread, as this is becoming common. Here it is:

"The Walkway of Uncertainty"

We'll speak in passing, words are exchanged, but not what we want to say

Crossing a bridge so warped, having weathered this same storm before

Slats missing, those of trust and tolerance, that of love has begun to warp

The rope that served as railing, having snapped long, long ago, decayed

A mote once containing a drinksworth of that which made us one, draining

In its place, this two faced enigma, treading water, unsure of even itself

The furthur along the arch we walk, the more violent the swaying becomes

Where we looked for balance and stability, there's dead air, a gap, a void

You've crossed, there's kerosene and a lighter, beside it, a stack of wood

I make my way, leveled with a scroll of past indiscretions, and some rope

You question its integrity, having come this far, burning this bridge, not likely

My redemption seems at hand again, elated and puzzled, I become uneasy

With an empty glaze, it hits me..I'm one slat short of ever crossing again....

Yo, Cine...I find your pieces of poetry/prose refreshing and interesting. The descriptions are eloquent and also - I presume - metaphoric. I wonder who you are speaking to? An ex-girlfriend? A love unrequited? Humanity?

I also like the structure of your work:

quote:
The rope that served as railing, having snapped long, long ago, decayed

It's almost like a mix of Yoda-speak and James Joyce!

Finally, it's interesting to see that although we may disagree on many things (movie choices, political/ethical persuasions, etc), some things are universally shared.

Anyway, I feel I have enthused enough, but good work.

Rich with poetic metaphor, indeed. I'm..uhh..doing some expository writing in the middle of weathering a relationship storm. There's more to come.

I do appreciate the sentiment(s), I'm surprised with myself, in all honesty.
