I'm not sure about Depa's force ability or lightsabre prowess, but in a basic sabre fight, wouldn't Cin win it? I mean, he was a jedi trainer and duelist, and came across as being a good duelist from the visual dictionaries and that.
I don't know. Cin's the saber instructor but Depa uses Vaapad so dueling skills are probably about tied. Don't know about Force skills, Cin'd older thus has probably had more experience but Depa's on the Council so those are probably about tied, too. But I don't think Cin would've gone to the Dark Side as easily as Depa did so I'll say Cin. But it'd be very close.

Doesn't Cin have alot of force powers that help him in dueling, like Yoda , using the force to make him faster, stronger, more agile and whatnot? I remember hearing/ reading that somewhere.
I think that Cin is a better duelist, even against Deppa's vaapad, I think he would win.
cin would win IMAO. For all we know about these two lets call there force skill equal. I think that cin's saber skill would surpass that of depa since he was always considered one of the greatest duelest other than Mace, yoda, and perhaps obi and anakin (the only reason anakin killed him was to show the power of the darkside. it was overdone. Also there may have been a ring of 50 troopers around them.)

Hmm. Mace said in Shatterpoint that he might be the only Jedi being able to defeat Depa in a lightsaber duel. Cin is good in lightsaber fights but I don't think he's as good as Depa (the only person except Mace that ever mastered Vaapad).
For force powers I don't know but considering the fact that Depa was a member of the Council and Cin is said to be on council level I think they're about equal.
I'd give it to Depa because she seems to be the better duellist.

1) Yeah, well, for one thing you can't really take what Shatterpoint said about Mace being the only Jedi able to defeat Depa. If Mace can Yoda definately can, whioch makes that statement false, meaning some other Jedi may be able to as well. And did Depa really master Vaapad? Cause I was under the impression that she mastered it in the same way Sora did. And if I'm not mistaken Cin is said to be on Council level in terms of saber skills.
I agree with you that Mace isent the only one that can beat Depa in saber combat but I still think she would beat Cin. Sure he was a really good swordsman but the only persons ever said to have bested Mace in combat is Yoda and Dooku, not Cin, and Depa was a match for Mace, she beated him although he wasent aiming to kill her it was still skillfully done by her. And being on the Councils level in saber combat doesent speak for every member since there are big differences (Mace, Coleman).

a)
If a Jedi in the PT says that only he can do something that automatically means "he and Yoda". Yes. Yoda would be able to defeat Depa but if Mace says that only him is able to do so he basically means he can do it, Yoda could do it and nobody else could do it. And you are the first person here who should take this words literary considering the fact that you used statements like that to establish something as a fact (e.g. Dooku talking about people who can defeat Grievous).
b)
Sora Bulq never mastered Vaapad and this is told by Mace in Shatterpoint and he mentioned Depa as the only other person that ever mastered the style. So she mastered Vaapad the same way Mace did it.

Depa a match for Mace? hahaha! Reread the book. By the time Mace fought her, he was already the bearer of several broken bones and had just fought a bunch of Akk Guards. Even after all of that, he still beat her easily. She tried to stab him in the back, and did, but he still beat her enough to send her into a coma.

If he was a real man he wouldn't have even got hit.... I'm just kidding, I don't know the circumstances, I just like to poke fun at Mace when I can. He kinda pisses me off.
